I just popped back in and what a conundrum on the 500 model....... If its the exact same sensor and compression rate I see no point but I do not know why I am still tempted it's more of a gadget for £20 more...... If it was same size I wouldn't hesitate. ARGHGHGHGHGHHGGHHHHHHHH ...... Or do I get one of each :D I shall think tonight as there is still time.

Just downloaded the app on my tablet to see what it looks like reviews of it are ok, looks like you can upload vids recorded on camera to youtube immediately so in theory...... from the car via 3G etc straight to youtube. That is interesting ish but not very practical for me personally as I am constantly roaming and not in that much of a hurry.

Only good thing I can see with the wifi that could be used is in the event of a bump you could immediately show the other party / Police the evidence you have on your smart phone in HD quality and might stop them lying through their teeth and defuse the situation if other person genuinely didn't think they were in the wrong and were getting annoyed. According to the review linked below on Android (being better than apple) you can save the video's from the camera to memory on phone with the wifi as well as stream them across, on the apple you can't. That for me is a good thing if there is a video of note I want to take back with me to show someone I would normally have to remove memory card put in laptop upload to youtube or transfer to mobile to then show on to others etc. With the app it looks like on Android you can do quite a bit. You can change some of cameras settings via the app too which is also very handy.

I was having the same conundrum. Would probably have gone for it if I could actually come up with a valid reqson for needing the wifi access.

    Woohoooo the list is complete! Now to book my car in for service as late as possible so I can hopefully leave the all seeing eye running in it. :D

    Say's for service list "full road test" a VRS is extremely rare here I do not like the idea of someone taking my car right by the motorway for a novelty joy ride. As much as I would like to think it wouldn't happen, it would be worth them doing it just for me to catch them!

    My 300 unit currently won't recognise any SD card I put in it.....anyone know how I can solve this, as I've tried formatting the card and even a brand new one....doing my head in now.

    Any ideas?

    I have responded to your PM.

    Failing that send it back and I'll check and replace if required.

    The 300 does not seem to like new SD cards unless they have been reformatted (not a slow version) and for extra safety I copy the blackvue folder from the old card with an empty record folder.

    This seems to work every time.

    If not I suspect a fault, which will mean a replacement unit. Which will be supplied on return and checking of your unit.
