Remote locking replacement key?

Featured Replies

Hi =)

I bought a 2002 fabia 1.4MPI Blackline today and it only came with a normal key without a remote. The car does central lock with the normal key in the driver door, but can't help but think it's designed to be used with a remote locking key. The guy I bout it from said he never got one, but I'd like to get one if its possible?

Can anyone help? Is the car meant to have a remote key or did it come that way?

Thanks,

Garry

I had this when i brought my fabia 53 plate. I brought a key off ebay, (some say that was sketchy as if you recieve a used key it can lock your ECU, i dont know anything about this, im not an engineer) i went to Timspsons where he checked my key against one of his blank keys and they were the same. All in all with Timpsons setting the key to the car (by plugging a laptop to my car and figuring out the ecu code) it came to £94. Timpsons wanted £110 if i had brought their key aswell anyway. I wish i just went to Timpsons in the first place. But if you know someone with vag you could do it for the price of the key.

My boot even pops open off the key!!
