Si's disco off roader.

Just be careful with lift blocks. If it's just under the springs, you can risk spring bind where the spring slams shut before the bottomout bumpers hit. This can rip off spring perches. You will likely also be at the limits of the stock brake lines on extension.

I'm running Konis for an 80 series landcruiser in the front, I have longer front bump-stops fitted (orange poly's from one of the UK suppliers) and these work nicely with the stock towers and 2" longer brake lines and 180lb/in springs about 420mm long each. I've got about 3" more downtravel than stock now and can get full compression and extension without bottoming the shock or letting the spring jump out.

It is all poly bushed which was done during its rebuild, along with all new shock, springs and most suspension parts aswell. I've not looked at the brake lines (always to dark) but I assume these were lengthened when he did it as offroading was its purpose but I'll double check to make sure. :)

I won't be going to mental as the kids will be with me, so I'll see how it copes.

In the front radius arms poly bushes restrict the articulation. You'll get more movement and more traction with the OEM rubber bushings. I run polys in the radius arms and panhard rod myself, partly because I've got a real heavy diesel and partly to get back some road manners.

But first things first, test it gently in a dry area where you can easily get out to see what's happening without being up to your knees in mud. Then get out and have some fun.

You can always change the polybushes if required, as Red, Orange and Blue give varying stiffness which can be softer than OEM.

I found Orange a good compromise.

From what I noticed I think they are orange. I'll know more Saturday when we do the blocks and I've had a good look round it In daylight :)

Looking forward to getting it dirty today :)

My trashed his, bent the chassis being towed out, smashed a front Caliper off, prop donut, and snapped a brake pipe :)

He's brought another one today so alls good.

The prop donut, okay. The rest ???

Tackled the stereo and electrical gremlin today!

Got the stereo sorted, had to run a perm live straight from the battery in the end as the wires are all butchered!

Fingers crossed I've sorted the gremlin aswel :)

Checked all earths and they seemed ok, noticed a broken wire on the alternator so fixed that and hopefully that's cured it. We shall see.

You have my commiserations. Stock wiring is the worst aspect of owning a landrover. Closely followed by previous owners who tried to fix factory problems in very bizarre ways.

Whatever you do, if you find two matching plugs under the dash that look like they fit together. NEVER, EVER connect them.
