Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

I am very tempted with the new vRS estate with DSG.

The 0% and free servicing makes up for the lack of vat free as there seems to be about 10% off online already.

I was tempted with an older A6 177PS Le Mans at £17k but for a three year old car with 69,000 and the potential bills out of warranty the new 0% deals makes your wallet feel safer.

I bet the delivery times for the estate are going to be long.

where have you seen 10% off the vRS online?

  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

Can you provide a link please.

Drive the deal showing a 14% discount on there site at the moment.

I just noticed it on drive the deal.

It shows the 200 Elegance for 21170 and the vRS estate for 22351.13 (over 3k off)

No options showing for the vRS but the Elegance all seem to match might have just been added?

Prices seem to match the Skoda site.

Hope this helps and it's true!

How does it work drive the deal? Do i need to put my details in and they send me a price? As just saying list price

As you press for their price it will ask you for your details then it proceeds with the discounted price.

Yeah shows up a hefty discount price already! £2700 on petrol hatch

Ive asked my dealer to send me a quotation for a tsi manual hatch and estate with about 14-1500 of spec to see what a PCP would look like awaiting a response.

I think the dealers are waiting on the cars appearing on their finance system

I was hoping the Configurator would be live by now!

Does the vRS come with front parking sensors?

Tomorrow is D day for finance figures apparently ill be awaiting for a call from my dealer

No rears only. Spec is essentially as per SE model with vRS specific add-ons and a few other things like Bi-xenons, front assist, lane assistant and light assistant. Again seems that the UK has missed out as in most of the rest of Europe the car is based on Elegance spec with some extras.

No it isn't. In Romania at least, it's also based on the SE equivalent spec (Ambition).

I don't see them as an option either :(

I think you can get park assist and that comes with front sensors but they are not available as a standalone option

if a petrol VRS holds 51% I will eat my hat!

It was diesel i was told that about it its true we shall see tomorrow

Anyone know what insurance group the vrs is? hatch and estate?

Its on website, i believe around 25-26 if i remember correctly

Surely the gmfv is exactly the equity they say you will have. The higher it is the better. I would much rather have a 2k higher gmfv than having to hope that the dealer can give you 2k more. The end result is exactly the same but the risk for you is way less

Not so. On a pcp you get made an offer at the end for your car against a new one in the hope that your car is worth more than the gmfv. In that instance you want to be offered as much over the gmfv as possible. If you're only told the car is worth the gmfv then you have zero equity towards your new car as you obviously still owe the gmfv anyway.

This is Immaterial if you intend to keep the car but in that instance you generally wouldn't be using a pcp to finance the purchase. Having said that, you might choose to if offered 0%.

Skoda could be overstating the GFV a little to make it cheaper to buy... as it'll sweeten the pill with the new Octy VRS being so much more expensive than the last one which was on the VAT free deal.

Just a thought... Nissan did the same with the LEAF, which will (IMO) come back to bite them on the behind.

I think they are doing just this, with the stinger being that there will be very little equity if any left in the car at the end of the pcp term.

There's no way it will be worth that on the open market. They are claiming better residuals than a Golf GTD there aren't they?

If they offer you more than the GFV all they are doing is offering you some of the money you have already paid back, better to have a higher GFV in the first place thus lower monthly payments, then the surplus is in your bank account rather than someone else's.

This is true and with the 0% PCP deal you are not saving any interest by paying more.

Worse ways you put a little aside each month for when the PCP ends and if the car is worth less than the GFV it's Skoda's problem. :D

Have to say that I am not a fan of PCP deals at all, but this 0% one does make sense.

So, ideally then you want to set up a PCP with the smallest deopsit possible and the highest final payment, right?

Then, be disciplined and save the extra yourself over the 3 years, gain interest on YOUR money over that time, and then you have more flexibility at the end to pay up, trade it in, or walk away entirely.

Am I right here?  I've never bought a car using PCP, but at 0% with 3 years free servicing, it makes no sense NOT to as far as I see it.
