Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

Ill see what the prices come out at tomorrow going to 3 different dealers to compare them too. Only issue with 19's is 1) £50 extra each for continental tyres and 2) £1000 option which is extremely expensive

wow, didnt realise the 19's were a grand!

  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

It makes more sense for diesel to be dearer. There more economical and hold there value a lot better.

U will find it hard find 1 new vrs in petrol in Ireland. There just a no go for many reasons.

Still not seen any pics of the best colour yet.  :wonder:

Right I see, so regardless of the handbrake being on then? As I had a Passat for a couple of days last year and that had stop/start and it would only turn off when the handbrake went on, overall, once I got used to it I was actually not bothered at all by the engine going off.

No i test drive a elegance 2.0tdi 150bhp with DSG a couple of weeks ago and as soon as the car stopped the engine turned off then as the brake is released it starts up again much faster than what my mums manual scirocco does

heard back from local dealer, no hatches till begining of next year

Got the OTR in front of me from the printed brochure..

Hatch:

Manual TSI - £22,990

DSG TSI - £24,380

Manual TDI - £23,260

DSG TDI - £24,650

Estate:

Manual TSI - £23,790

DSG TSI - £25,180

Manual TDI - £24,060

DSG TDI - £25,450

Been today to get prices however the finance system is not working yet.

I was told however which may be of interested to those taking PCP out that the future value is estimated around 51% which would give cheap monthly payments

Sooooooooo, anyone got a spare £25K they can let me have?

For some reason I think a Black Estate TSI DSG would be the dogs danglies.

Though, having now seen the Meteor Grey, quite like that too.

Mine would be the estate for the "thing"

would have to see the meteor grey in the flesh if not....steel grey...

deffo a diesel but a  manual this time not too keen on dsg.

the kessy system and silver roof rails..........

and the wheels would be the 18inch darker ones the 19s would be a tad too hard

estates are coming first but i keep thinking of the finance offer currently,

if i get the hatch, that leaves my budget open to get all of the options :D which sounds rather epic to me !!

and that meteor grey is awesome ! ...........marmite i know but i really like it !

Meteor grey - Emporer's new clothes? Is it just me or is that just primer - like on steel girders?

The finance deal wont come into it, if you order now on a PCP 0% then they would have to honour that if teh car came in 6 months time, regardless of what finance options are available then, get it agreed on the order form and that woudl be that surely?!?

Spoke to my local dealer today they have a black TDI DSG Estate as a demo so going to pop in and have a look tomorrow or Wednesday.

Before I forget, has anyone actually managed to negotiate a deal on a new vRS??  Did anyone get any discount at all??

I did a double take there - at first glance, I honestly thought you had written gruesome !!!  :giggle:

Especially with the 0% finance my figures are working out at just under £200 a month on pcp for 3 years which is £20 more than i pay for my current basic mk2 vrs, its a no brainer for what ill save in fuel, insurance and tax.

Which model and how much deposit?

I went today but the VW finance system has not been updated yet, the 3 dealers I spoke to have said definitely Wednesday they'll get figures maybe tomorrow so awaiting my figure based on deposit I'm putting in.

Which model and how much deposit?

Estate Tdi DSG, Candy White 19inch wheels then iv added quite a few options so will be around £210-£220 I reckon. Ill add a photo later of a example that was on display at goodwood that I took a photo of.

It only makes sense if it actually costs more to manufacture. Otherwise they are just inflating the price on the more popular engine type.

Looking at those sample numbers they expect around a 45% value after 3 years

The Gmfv there isn't the 55% of list quoted above. Thought it was too good to be true on a Skoda!

Notice that's in a 10k per year too! Wonder how much less it would be up at the 12/14k +

Worth adding that an overly high gmfv isn't a good thing if you're looking to swap the car for a new one at the end of the pcp as you won't have any equity in the car. You want the dealer to be able to offer you at least a couple of grand over the final figure really.

10k a year seems standard on examples these days. With additional miles being charge at approx 7p per mile you're not worth worrying about going a few thousand miles over as long as the gmfv hasn't been set too high in the first place.

Surely the gmfv is exactly the equity they say you will have. The higher it is the better. I would much rather have a 2k higher gmfv than having to hope that the dealer can give you 2k more. The end result is exactly the same but the risk for you is way less
