ANTI ROLLBAR/SWAY BAR UPGRADE

Featured Replies

Im wanting to stiffen things up as the car still seems to lean more than i like on cornering and islands.

as it is, the car is sitting on KW (shortened) shocks and Eibach 50mm springs.

So what are my options on upgrading the front anti rollbar?

im not looking for a race spec bar etc, but just one that will stiffen things up better.

Apart from any aftermarket brands that you care to mention are there any Cars with a stiffer roll bar that would fit the Superb ie Rs4, Rs6 etc..? and what other mods maybe required?

Also, does the Superb1 have a rear anti roll bar? if not what options do i have?

Slightly off your topic but how do you find the KW (shortened) shocks and Eibach 50mm springs combo?

I used to have an H&R uprated ARB from Phillip Walker Motorsport on my Passat:

All but got rid of the dreaded front end roll and made for a much flatter trajectory. There's a bit of a trade-off when you reduce the roll, in that the front wants to understeer off a roundabout more, but in the four years I had it on there, I thought it was great and worth every penny.

Would seriously suggest buying from a different source. Had incredibly poor experience with them and I'm not alone. Wouldn't deal with again.

Times change - in fairness, my experience was from about six years ago and couldn't have been better.

Saying that I've heard some worrying experiences about the local garage I use, but have always had exemplary service from them myself. You can never really tell I guess.

Im going to go with The H&R bar for the front i think its part no# 33591-1 which is 32mm? can anyone confirm this is correct?

This just leaves a rear roll bar.! any options on this.? link?

Dunno if this helps:

32mm rings bells, but I can't remember for sure.

VWnutant over on UKPassats had my one off me if you want to ask.

They do the job, although im having trouble with the rear, i suspect the rears are sitting on the bump stops as its very crashy when going up/down bumps in the road, ill have to chop the existing or find new smaller bumpstops and see what it feels like.

but for me personally the car need a stronger rollbar as the body roll although alot better than a std setup is still not to my liking.
