crashiness and bouncing with coilovers

Featured Replies

Admittable I have cheap jom coilovers, but ever since I cracked my sump I've considered raising the height now they are not stupid low there is room to go I can get almost two fingers in each arch. I believe now it wasn't solely the height what cracked the sump it was the car bouncing thus excessive movement which caused it to bounce and smack the sump.

what I'm asking is would raising them reduce the bouncing and crashiness?? The thing is they are just height adjustable coil overs so you can't directly alter them iykwim.

Thanks

I have jom coilovers wound all the way down and they have no bounce at all, did you buy them new?? Sounds like the dampers have gone if you have bounce mate

No brand new

The lower you go the more crashy and bouncy, but it could be you are now hitting the bump stops as the springs compress.

How low is it mate?? Got any pics?? For it to bounce up and down that much to crack the sump its like you have no damping, are they for a fabia vrs?? Could have the wrong spring rate on them ??

raising it will reduce the bounce, the bump stops are likely over kill, i have joms and have them nearly at bottom, i have cut the bump stops down and they are still not crashy or bouncy, that extra inch of bump stops really made the difference. Heres how low i am
