Just brought a VRS

Featured Replies

Having sold my MK1 Fabia Vrs a long time back I recently returned to the Skoda Fabia with a new Monte- Carlo. I had the 86ps 1.2 model. I love the car but there was always a yearning to return to the Vrs.

Looking online I found one, and took it on a test drive today. I really like it.

I have to say I have purchased a lot of cars, but so far I cannot fault the service of Simpsons in Colne, they gave me a fantastic part ex price.

Picking her up on Friday. Its a race blue metallic, with the black alloys.

Will post a few pictures when I get it

Tony

nice one Tony ;) welcome to the fold!

He might be if his car is like the majority of mk2 vrs owners on here lol

It is good to joke,

but i think it is 'Minority' not 'Majority'.

Hostman, enjoy your new car.

I have a vrs with bad oil consumption but don't ever let this put you off. As you pull away your face has this smile which only widens as you hit 4k rpm its a pleasure to drive, and you cant beat the look on peoples faces

Welcome to the "Pocket Rocket" club. :hi:

The vrs is a brilliant little car really,it's cheap to run and goes like stink I'm really happy with mine and I'm sure you will be too.

Welcome to the club Tony. It's a fantastic car and I hope you like it.

Picked car up and I love it. Will post some pictures up in the morning, but standard race metallic blue with black wheels. Averaged 43 mpg on way home according to Maxi Dot, but I did not exploit the engine, just getting used to the DSG. Loved my monte but this is even better!

Tony enjoy and don't worry about the gloom merchants, the oil usage is a myth banded about by people that don't have a clue, enjoy it

Tony i hope you enjoy.

Seb is just getting very silly now.

The Oil level does need watched untill you are sure that your car does not use excessive oil.

There are engines that do, it is no myth.

Engines have been re-built or replaced & cars returned to Skoda,

Luckily within Warranty any problems can be successfully dealt with & fixed.

what some people have is a problem with those taking the pith of vRS owners, also maybe with people that have not used the particular dipstick on the vRS

& some do not know where the level will show when there is Stone Cold oil, or the oil is brought to Normal Running Temperature and checked.

Once you know where the oil is on your car, cold or hot you can easily check if oil is being used to excess.

have fun.

Cheers everyone.

I brought the Vrs with an open mind and I am only too aware of some issues with oil usage but that's whats the warranty is there for!

I will keep an eye on the oil level but I wont let this distract me from what is my hobby of enjoying driving and having a blast at the weekend.

Just took her out and had a blast, my god this is fast, a grin a minute!

Cheers
