A no from me, why make your car sound like a chav's . Stick with the normal recirc one or as suggested a forge or compbrake alternative.

Thanks for the thoughts, i did look at that one, but im sad to say i do like the ttttiiiissssss + it still re sirks so no power loss.

Thanks Marko

If you want the noise just stick a cone filter on it, i have a jabba induction kit with a jetex cone filter and you can hear valve through that

As stated if you fit a Cold Air Induction kit you will get quite an increased tssh from the DV and very noticeable from even inside car.

I hate the expression 'blow off valve' so.........no

We put 1 of these on my brothers once

A pain in the ass to get set rite

Just get a 007 and a induction kit

I hear my valve well and mined at the front :D

will the 007 make much difference (noise wise) over the standard, as I already have a HKS Mushroom filter but cant hear it as much as I would like..

Yes 007 and filter makes a big tssssch sound

i got an cold side induction kit and a Forge 008 and that dumps its boobies off. Can be heard from a distance.

I fitted my 007 :D

Even fitted my relocation kit ;)

So must be easy ;)

I have the forge split-r on my mk4 golf 1.8t and to b honest there not that good. Would rather have the 007p to be honest. U get fed up wif the wooosh noise of the split r and there a nitemate to set up

great, just what I wanted to hear, Will I require a fitting kit do you know, or is it just remove one, replace with new ?

Just a swap over mate

I think i got new jubilees anyway :)

I usually get new stainless marine jimmy joes whenever i do bits :D

Nice one, I just won the one I linked to above so hopefully have it fitted soon.. I have been reading a few guides and some people suggest installing them backwards for a better noise, is this a wise thing to do ?

I mean I want noise (whole reason im doing it) but I dont want to do more harm than good in the process

Dont they sound funny backwards ?

They are very easy to set up the Split-R valve if you do a bit of research. You don't need to change a spring in it as you adjust it to the right setting. You also get a blanking plate it you don't want the whoosh sound.

im not sure, just seen a few people saying put them in backwards for more sound, struggled to find a video though, I will just go with the standard direction for now and see how it goes

I think we spoke to forge and they said how many clicks forbstock and stage 1 lol

Can remember tho :(

Yes. quite a bit more noise over std DV, especially with a good CAI kit.

P.S , get rid of the HKS mushroom filter , they are pants on these cars. And please don't tell me you have it bolted straight to the air flow meter as that is even worse for performance.

No fitting kit needed, just remove old one and fit new one. Unless you want to relocate to the front of the car as some folks have to get cooler airflow.

Also the one you have won has the right green spring in it.

They can be fitted in reverse if preferred with no side effects other than the car sounding like a cat on heat. don't do it unless you like that sound :giggle:

not needed on the 007p

I thought it was a split r on ebay :D my bad lol

I get distracted easy

Thanks tons of useful info there,

I have got it on a reducer pipe attached to the Maf so its closer to the cold air feed, but I will look into a better CAI when funds allow, any you can recommend on a tight budget,

no worries

something like this is a good cheap alternative. You can then replace the Cone filter maybe later for a better version like a K&N
