Eibach (30mm) lowered Monte and H&R rear ARB

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Having blown tens of thousands on my previous vRS Octavia I decided this Monte Carlo would be the cheap run around and that I would NEVER do anything to it - modification wise.

Well idea...that went slightly out of the window.

As it is stupidly high I've fitted some 30mm Eibach lowering springs from Awesome GTi - Excellent service and price, I would highly recommend!

And I went for the 25mm H&R rear anti roll bar from Alex at AKS Tuning - excellent service and top bloke!

I have only had time to fit the rear springs and ARB, but the difference it has made is amazing! The ride feels much tighter and doesn't roll when switching from left-right-left. No crashing or horrible effects from the rear springs either - I'm very happy!

The only down side is it hasn't lowered the car as much as I thought it would've, but other than that it's all GREAT!

I have a full set of SuperPro bushes to go on at some point (front wishbones, front anti roll bar & rear trailing arms), I’ll get it remapped then I will leave it be.

Will post pics once I have got them off my phone!

For any Fabia II drivers that haven't got this H&R rear bar on - you MUST get one, you will not be disappointed!!!!

Steve :)

i must get me a rarb some time soon, worked well on my mk1

shouldnt cost too much to get one fitted should it? last one was all in at jabba but its too bloody far to drive again

The H&R bar is a tight fit (side to side). I managed to bend it sufficiently enough to fit it myself once one side was bolted on loosely, took longer to grease everything up than it did to fit tbh.

Couldn't recommend it enough though!

Hi, sounds good! Any chance of some pics of the lowered car?

Thanks

What's the ride like with the eibachs???? I've heard a few stories about really bad ride quality

Not sure about the eibachs but i have the VWR springs and the ride quality is spot on. Dont get me wrong you wouldnt want to drive into a pot hole, but then i wouldnt want to do that on stock suspension either.

I have the 20mm eibach's on my vRS. Ride quality is ok, maybe slightly harder at first, but you soon get used to it. Even if you do find it harder, the benefits in handling and reduced body roll more than make up for this. I now find It quite reassuring!

Hmmmmm I've always wanted to lower it and eibachs seem to be subtle enough so the untrained eye wouldn't know any different eg swmbo lol

My missus has never noticed lol.

are these the lowering springs for a TDI Monte? http://www.awesomegt...10-79-006-02-22

Do Awsome fit these and what is the fitting cost approx?
