  • This is sort of not on topic, but I just have to: Curious as I am, I had to Google Cumbria and see what sort of place/area you are talking about having a meet (I might take a holiday in the UK/Scotla

Ok guys and girls an update.

The campsite we used last year is now a no go due to various reasons. So I would advise people who wish to camp to contact this place. Don't say you're part of a car club though...lol.

It would be best to book on an individual basis I feel and let me know how you get on.

Contact details can be found here http://www.dalebottomfarm.co.uk/location.htm

Because of this I'll make the start point at Keswick for the drives. On the Saturday I shall amend the route a little to use a nice road and then continue with the route I have in mind to the meal stop.

So I suggest we meet at or near the Theatre by the lake Car park in Keswick. Although I might choose the large layby on the A66 just on the outskirts of Keswick. I shall decide very shortly. I would therefore meet at between 1pm and 1.30pm. Allowing us a nice time to get to the meal stop and have a brief stop off at Hartside Cafe.

Haweswater is near the end of the route for the Sunday, not the best road for driving on (it's not a fast road), but the views are awesome.

Yep no worries. Most details are in the above posts.

Has anyone booked the site yet? I'd like to do fri and sat but dont think I can get there til late on the fri because of work so not sure if I'd be allowed in!

I've tried contacting them about booking it but got a straight no. So would be best if you speak direct I feel this year.

That's what I meant - has anyone actually booked it yet?! It says in their website you have to check in for tents so I'm concerned that I won't be able to arrive early enough on the Friday to stay over that night. Wondered if anyone has contacted them yet who might have times and info etc.

Will be phoning tomorrow as I'm at uni instead of work.

Will let you know what they say.

Thanks dude :)

Ian have you decided if the meeting point is definitely the lay by or elsewhere?

Cheers.

Yeah I think that is going to be the best bet, not in the way of anyone and easy to get to. I'll put a link up for everyone tonight

Loz. if you need to book a pitch try burns farm http://www.burns-farm.co.uk/ they allow bookings for tents. me and Manctavia have inquired about booking pitches here.

Thought we were all booking dale bottom as let Ian's posts?? No good if we're all on different sites! Can has emailed dale bottom for me Dave and himself and its all good. And they have showers!

Ok guys and girls the meeting point for both days is shown on the following link. There is a large layby on the A66 just past the main roundabout for Keswick if you're travelling from the East. We should be out of the way of most people and it's easy to spot.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=A66&daddr=A66&hl=en&sll=54.608633,-3.156311&sspn=0.001684,0.005284&geocode=FaZCQQMdFNDP_w%3BFflDQQMdOdPP_w&t=h&mra=me&mrsp=1,0&sz=18&z=18

For the Saturday can we meet here at 1pm, to 1.30pm. This should give us a nice time to get to the meal stop with a brief stop at Hartside Cafe to admire the view whilst I can give the Golf Club a heads up on our arrival time.

On the Sunday can we meet at 10.30am and then by the time we set off a lot of the cyclists will be out of the way.

Ok it's Thursday, some of us are setting off tomorrow and no one has agreed a definite campsite and most people haven't even mentioned contacting a site - where are we going peeps??

Me and manctavia have booked burns farm with no problems.

This meet is kinda pointless now isn't it. We've now got everyone staying in a different place!

Looks like that can't be helped Loz. There was only one option that we could all use and for whatever reason it is not available.

Well nothing to stop us all actually booking the same site though. And there's only 5 of us actually confirmed we're staying lol

Can't wait to see you all Saturday looking forward to the drive. Just a shame we couldn't do Sunday.
