New girl!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone! I'm new here, and have come in need of some opinions!

I've got the option of either buying a 55 plate mk1 Octy vRS with decent mileage (60k) or spending an extra £800ish on an 06 mk2 with higher miles.

Other than the obvious differences between them, are they massively different cars? I'm leaning toward the mk1 purely because its cheaper, closer and less mile-high...but the mk2 looks nicer inside and out! Does the extra 200cc make much difference in the speed? What would you do?

Help please!

Hello and welcome. Simple answer - drive both see which you like best. Both sound like they're just run in.

Hi!!

As suggested, have a drive of both - the MK2 has a 6 speed box and better/higher spec, the power IS that much more noticeable and the MK2 will obviously hold its value better long term (unless you keep the MK1 til it's a classic!

Personal opinions of course so drive both and choose your winner!

This thread could go on a bit; The Mk1 and Mk2 Fabia owners fighting it out and the fact you are a girl on a car forum.....

edit; go for the Mk1 (biased)

She's talking about Octavias, their owners are more mature lol

Mk1 is the more raw version, mk2 is like a buisness class model imo

If it's a mkII pre-facelift, go for the mkI.

It's a better looking car.

OK, it's only my opinion, but I think the early mkII lights look a little sad. Although it should be a better car.

It'd be longer if it was between the mkI and mkII Fabias. ;)

Haha, thanks guys (and gal!). I loved the mk1 I viewed straight away so have bought it. For the price I don't think it'd be worth spending more for the mk2 purely on the physical.

If I could figure out how to post pics I'd show you...(Josh?!)

Thanks for the advice :-D

I thought you were all forum knowledged up! Sign up to photobucket, then upload pics from your pc using the tag link or get the photobucket app and upload from your phone copying the same ta.

I will have to take the mk1 for a spin.

Double act at the Castle Combe day on track then? :)
