Thanks everyone. I'm loving the Octy, but have a plan to upgrade it a little, then trade it for a mk2 next year. I adore it,but I do like the look of the mk2s....

I prefer the mark 1!

Similar to my old one

Well done for getting this much advice! I posted yesterday and only got one reply of the not very helpful variety, never mind .

I still prefer the mk1 VRS as the best looking Octy and I prefer the mk2 facelift over the pre facelift as it doesn't have the sad looking headlights.

The OP posted on the 2nd January.

For car problems I'd suggest posting in the model specific area of the forum and you'll reach a more focused audience.

Welcome to the forum. Always makes me chuckle how many replies a girl newbie gets over a bloke.

To your question, and I'm bias but the mk2 is way ahead of the mk1 in driving. Though I would say like all new cars you're slightly more removed from the driving experience in the mk2.

Mk2 facelift is the best looking octavia to date....... no doubt I'll get lynched for saying that :-p
