I'm sure you're aware that the weakpoint that is the console bushes (rear bush on the front wishbone) due to the fact there's a topic created every other day about them! I had this problem when I first got my Fabia VRS about 3 months ago, they were shot so I replaced them with the standard OEM ones from Skoda thinking they would be okay.

I fitted them myself, as I'm lucky enough to have access to a garage, only later to find that under hard acceleration the steering wheel vibrates like crazy and it doesn't feel very stable in the corners. I've done a little research and narrowed the choices down to the Seat bushes, Poly bushes, or the Caster Kit (Anti-Lift Kit) and decided to go with the latter in an effort to turn the bushes into bearings making for better handling.

I'm hoping they won't make the ride to harsh, has anyone had experience of having these fitted? I'm also fitting Vogtland lowering springs, new tie rods (due to play in the steering) and a new dog mount bush.

I'll keep you posted on what I find!

I have these fitted. Bout 6 months i e had them on the car. Certainly reduced wheel hop. Would recommend.

Can't praise these enough, absolute nightmare to fit but worth it in the end. If you're going to fit these yourself then a word of advise: use some lubrication before pressing and clean up the fitment area first. Also take the whole mount out if you can, makes it so much easier!

I did indeed, the dampers were all replaced just before I got the car so I just put the springs on them. They're a great comprimise between handling & comfort though, alot better than coilovers in my opinion.

Very close to ordering the spring and damper kit, figure the dampers will be the age of the car so may as well be done at same time.

Have you fitted shorted bumpstops or cut them down?

I didn't really need to touch the bump stops, it's stiff enough not to hit them.

For the hassle it's worth I'd take it to your local garage especially if you're fitting the caster kit as it's a solid shell around the outside therefore has to be pressed in. I did it in my Dads workshop and had to use the vice to press them, they definitely will not hammer in and you'll damage the bush in the process, good luck!
