Retrofit remote locking - a few questions.

Featured Replies

I have had my 2000 Octavia SLX TDi (Pre-facelift) for a couple of weeks and have been locking it using the key on the passenger side as the drivers side lock doesn't work. I have ordered a remote locking kit and would like to get it fitted shortly, I have a few questions about fitting.

Can I tap into the wiring for the CCM module? where is it located? some people say behind the light switch on the dash and some say in the drivers door.

Does anyone have a guide for a skoda? I see reference to a guide by Jon, but can't find it.

Is there a wiring diagram for my car?

Any other tips would be helpful. I have bought an Octopus keyless entry system. The car has central locking with one touch windows, if that makes any difference.

Thanks

Adam

I got the locking installed at the weekend (using this guide http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/137982-retrofitting-remote-locking-fitting-guide/page__hl__+retrofitting%20+locking#entry1748403), all working fine apart from one thing, the indicator flash. My remote locking box has one wire for indicators, so I split it and wired it to pins 2 & 3 on the back of the hazard switch, worked fine until I used my indicators which lit both sides of my lights. So I cut one of the wires and now only 1 side of my indicators flash when I lock or unlock the car.

Is there any other way I can wire my indicators in?
