Doh!

On a side note the air freshened doesn't actually smell at all that I've noticed :) just incase that puts people off!

We used to stick a couple of these in our caravan over winter or when it wasn't in use. Worked a treat in that, so should work fine in a car!

Bargain for £1!

That's Asda price!

Cheers for the heads up, will go for one tomorrow, worth a shot

Got a couple from QD (a pikey version of Wilkinsons) and have left one in the car. It hasn't done anything yet, but can only help. Only downside is it smells of lavender!

Nearest Asda is a bloody long drive from me!

I just need LOADS of those little silica packets you get in electrical stuff in the mail. :D

I bought ones of ebay you can plug in to dry back out and the reuse them about a fiver. Used them in other cars and work ok left them under front seats.

tesco do their own version too !

SWMBO has thing called a Pingo which is a bag of something (like silica gel maybe) and a picture of a penguin on the front which changes colour from blue to pink. When it's gone pink you bung it in the microwave and that resets it.

However it does reach about the same temperature as the surface of the sun and steams like a you know what when it comes out of the microwave.

I used to fill my car with bags of silica gel - seems to make a bit of a difference.

Apparently SWMBO just told me they sell a similar thing in poundland, shes getting a couple tommorow so ill see what there like

We use the 151 humidity removers in our damp single skinned extension.

They collect a lot of water so must be making a difference,

Thankfully, this year we'll be knocking it down and starting again with

proper double skinned cavity construction.

I ate one of these once, was very very thirsty and dehydrated afterwards.

I was giving something very similar a few years ago. I've never used it as it can not be re-used. If it could be dried out I'd be tempted to leave it on my rear footwell.

I can remember small trays of silica on the inside of our secondary glazing at home. They never really worked, but could be dried out and re-used.

Used one of these ASDA jobbies in the car for a fortnight last year. Made no difference to the condensation though.

In the house they turn all the gel to sludge and work a treat though. Was going to buy a couple more to try again in the car last weekend, but our local ASDA don't have them in anymore.

Fit nicely in the pocket on the back of the front seats to stop them rolling around (when they work they contain water so be careful if they go over).

They sell these in the pound shop in York.

I may get one to use in the winter months. Always end up with more moisture in the car no matter what.

Phil

I used to use these when I had my Fabia. I found that 2 in the car worked a treat, but they were a pain to locate anywhere cos they are top heavy and kept falling over. Worth it for a couple of quid.

if you have a discount UK store they have them in a pack of 4 for £3.50 or at least they did a few months back

I ate one of these once, was very very thirsty and dehydrated afterwards.

LOL... Lee Evans sketch by any chance??!!

Silica Cat litter is the same stuff that is in the little packets that come with new electrical items.

So get an old sock, (obviously colour matched to the interior!!) fill it up, tie a knot in it and sling it under the front seats!!

You can make a few huge one's for under a couple of quid, and when they get 'heavy' with absorbed moisture just put them on top of a radiator to dry out!

Have used the ones above before and they are a right pain when they tip over!

They fit perfectly under the front seats- just wedge them under the bar that goes accross-job done, no rolling around
