Ive been looking through the pics of other cars on the site for inspiration and though id put mine up too.

So about a year ago i bought a completely standard Fabia Vrs from D M Keith in leeds with FSH and a new timing belt and service before collection. I was impressed with the fuel economy and the build quality seemed to be on par with previous vw's ive worked on and drove. I was adamant this car would remain completely standard and not altered in anyway...... This didnt last long.

A week later while washing the car realised the clips holding the rear wiper had broken and it was just hanging there. so i replaced it for a Mk5 Golf Wiper.

The Aerial was next on the hit list, after seeing a few with shorter Honda type Aerials. I found a Bargain S2000 breaking on Ebay and got that one.

A few weeks later i had a slow puncture on one tyre. The Wheel was leaking on the rim. I did a DIY job and sealed the leak but soon after the other 3 started to leak. I had them all refurbed in anthracite.

While the wheels were at the paint shop i took the opportunity and had them spray the chrome grill.

Next I got a Vrs foot rest and changed interior lights to Green LED.

Headlights bulbs were next to be changed to LED Side Lights to go with the Osram Night breakers

By now the newness of the car had worn off so i decided to tackle a splitter and de tango the lights. I set about this on a Saturday afternoon after work and by tea time the gaps in the centre where it didnt fit the bumper properly was already annoying me so a quick trip to b n q for some supplies and i made some adaptors so the splitter fit better.

Soon after i got some pretty cool headlight covers thatnks to 'The JudGe'

After this me n the car fell out due to things breaking, dash lights rattles and generally leaking like a sieve.

re-sealed the rear doors sorted most of the probs. I then recently started a bit of retrofitting first was a centre seatbelt and headrest thanks to jonnyy for the seat cover and foam.

Due to an ebay bargin i decided to tackle the parking sensors next. They work brilliantly although the new game of trying to get them to go to a constant beep can only end badly....

front anti roll bar and powerflex bushes.

Cupra R and powerflex wishbone bushes

They are E-marked as they are the genuine skoda ones but as they have been painted no light what so ever passes through them. so they are totally unsuitable and not usable at night time, but for daytime use during summer they are legal and i think they look pretty awsome

Hope your flame suit is clean.... I'd keep them for show/track use only personally.

although the indicators appear blue / green they do flash amber / orange and are e marked. They are Halfords version of Osram Diadem's

Think he meant you still can't use them on road due to blocking indicators (or me just getting the wrong end of the stick again.)

Door lights are 2 clear lights out of the boot from a vrs breakig on ebay with green led bulbs when they are side by side the 2 are identical

All MOT testers should be aware of the criteria, as it is detailed in the MOT Inspection Manuals for all Classes of vehicle that fall under the MOT Scheme. In fact, the information is repeated several times in the Manuals as it is covered in the sections covering: Front and rear position lamps, headlamps, stop lamps, rear reflectors and direction indicators.

The standards applied in the MOT test are taken from the Regulations appropriate to the item in question. In respect of lights, these regulations are The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, as amended (SI 1976). Regulation 4 (3) (a) states:

"Nothing in these Regulations shall require any lamp or reflector to be fitted between sunrise and sunset to

(a) a vehicle not fitted with any front or rear position lamp,"

Regulation 4 (4) states:

"Without prejudice to regulation 16, for the purposes of these Regulations a lamp shall not be treated as being a lamp if it is

(a) so painted over or masked that it is not capable of being immediately used or readily put to use; or

( an electric lamp which is not provided with any system of wiring by means of which that lamp is, or can readily be, connected with a source of electricity."

In case you are concerned about the reference to regulation 16 in reg. 4, this only refers to the fitting of blue warning beacons, special warning lamps and similar devices.

so a vehicle does not actually have to have any lights on it at all to run during daylight hours

there are 2 black vrs's so probs seen it about defo seen the red fiesta st if it looks heavily modified and the black astra im sure ive seen too .. does the black colt hang around in xscape car park alot lol if it does ive had a look at that when its parked next to me and its pretty sick

Lol ok bud, keep them on in the day time and let us know the outcome I do like the look but Im still sceptical about legality of them. Im sure somewhere on the list it would say cars must have indicators on the front of the car. Otherwise it will actually be 'optional extras' for BMW and Audi cars......

Side topic - has anyone seen the new Land Rover Evogue's DRL/indicator combo? The DRL flashes alternately when indicators are on so you can see the indicator easier. Nice touch I thought.

the ford ranger at work is similar to that it turns a drl off if the indicators not payed much attension to the evogue (cough freelander) as i am not a fan.... the covers are off atm for winter use but they havent got me pulled yet

Just bought a set of these myself for paintinglike this,, i think it looks awsome but i wont be running them in the day for sure! i dont know about anyone else but being a teen driver i get enough attention as it is!

im 21 lol i know and i what you mean and sometimes it just best not to attract the attension by blacking the lights the good thing about them been covers is they can be removed quick unlike tinting the lenses although they are easy to pinch so im careful where i leave the car with them on

Yeah his colt had rota style wheels on it 210bhp fmic and a flutter valve lol it's a nice thing. Smiggivrs is black with an lcr splitter and dirty diesel in gold on the back also had drls above the headlights like a thin strip yeah davs st been to jam sport running 190bhp with cosworth cams milltek exhaust 4-1 mani etc fair bit of kit is that dougs Astra just sticks out because of the fmic notably that look like that with the 19 snowflake wheels it's nice I'll be near the power station at the weekend my mate lives up there..... My mates dad has a white ml2 focus Rs with black wheels reg ends in POW you got to have seen that haha

was looking at the focus rs bcos my m8s just got 1 in white same and he fancies black wheels. No house I'm going to is on a small cul de sac and he's got a silver 206gti 180 my Fabia is silver had black wheels lcr splitter and black headlights smiggivrs live over other side of cas never been to his house but he's my best mates cusin are you by ford and that then???? Down twards motorway?
