Rear diffusor and tailpipe added to 1.2 TSI DSG

Featured Replies

why dosnt it fit the Monte? my dealer said they do and would need to be fitted inconjuction with the sport tail trim!

The rear bumper is a different shape, the Monte already has the diffuser built into it.

Bumper isnt but spliter is different to one pictured here, you can buy a primer version of the monte defuser with exit for exhaust

Monte bumper comes with the different splitter as part of it, that's what I mean about being a different shape.

When you have your tail pipe(s) fitted are they cutting the diffuser or have you changed that for the one with the cut-out?

just that my dealer didn't recommend cutting the standard diffuser!

Thanks.

I kno someone good with body work who has done this before

But skoda do supply one with a cut out.

A skoda dealer wouldnt recomend cutting the bumper as its not in line with skoda guidelines, as the accessories guide recoments suppling a new splitter (£230) who tell you its possible to cut when that can sell £200 of parts.

Bumpers and spliters are often cut to make room for exhausts and tow bars, the issue skill, i wouldn't attempt to do it my self.

My cars is in to have this done, and something has been brought to my attention that makes think twice about doing it.

Im told the rear bumper is doubled skin and but gutting it to fit the will leave it open to the elements is this correct

it would have been so much easier if Skoda had just fitted the diffuser already with the cut-out as standard! Would love to speak to the 'designer' of the Monte Carlo and ask them why they didn't! ;) seems silly that the sport tail trim and diffuser can be added more easily to a standard Fabia but not to the Monte which is supposed to be an already 'sporty' version!

I suppose Skoda would say buy the vRS if you want the tailpipes, oh and lets not forget the awful looking (imo) rear drum brakes on the Monte!!

Firstly its not really easier on the standard fabia they use the same bumper and pipes so really both monte and standard fabia require cutting body work and exhaust.

The choice is do you cut the orignal splitter or buy a new one, and are you happy with a hole in ur bumper skins (would love to see the VRS bumper upclose.

As for drums, altho they look awful it seems comman place on cars in the uk they have under 110BHP BUT what fustrates me is european models get rear discs.

Yes they do and I don't like the fact that my Monte's BHP is being advertised to the world at being less than 110BHP by having rear drum brakes!! ;)

The big issue is tooany one with good knowledge of the skoda range think its a VRS and want to race lol
