Best sounding car

Featured Replies

For me it has to be the satanic sound of a Metro 6R4.

It's one of those sounds that can cause bowel movements.

F1 cars sound great..... at idle speed.

1986 ford capri 2.0 pinto with a blown exhaust.

Has anyone heard van halen-hot for teacher of the 1984 album, the drum beat intro sounds like a badly tuned hot rod idling.

need to admit my dads S4 4.2 V8 sounds great

I have cut it down to three that do it for me' date='which I will whittle down to one!

TVR,Range Rover,Subaru Impreza. (I know there are so many to choose from)

My mate has an old V8 Range Rover. A bit manky old thing, but lovely sounding engine! But TVR is another level above though.

Very low volumes but the Mid 1980's Group B rallycars, all available as road cars. Audi 5cyl, Austin Rover 6R4 V6, Lancia Delta S4 Super and Turbo charged, Rs200 BDT

Amazing.....mmmmm :D

Fabia vRS - without a doubt.

My vote goes to the TVR V8, just got mine back from the factory after a service this afternoon, roof down, sunshine, and plenty of gearchanging, its impossible to stop grinning. Just brilliant.

Has to be:

Whatever it is, it can sure rev. So... recent Ferrari?

TVR speed 12?

My dad's 645Ci...sounds like a muscle car...

Ferrari 360 CS going through a tunnel, gets my vote! :D Thought my ears were going to bleed as he wrung out 3rd going under Manchester Airport runways...

Think the Nissan 350Z has a great standard exhaust note too

Aston Martin Vantage V8 too, proper old school. All have quite different sounds, but each is very very nice IMO.

Quite partial to american muscle cars. Watched a program the other night on sky, can't remember which channel, and they were visiting a factory that makes thta Shelby 500 thing out of Gone in 60 seconds. Eleanor (sp)? These were 1 offs producing 700+ bhp. Started one up..................oh yes

Yes indeed, lovely noise. Shelby Cobra might make it onto my list too :)

Steve

My vote goes to the not-so-exotic 350Z. Was overtaken by one the other day, and it sounded great! For an off the shelf affordable daily runner, unbeatable imo.

Mmm yes - have toyed with the idea of a 350Z especially since sitting in one at the Motor show last year. Mind you, sitting in a Marcos, with the lovely Dawn making sweet conversation as I did, was even more tempting. Now I just need to find the money ...

Last year while driving through Salisbury, followed a Cobra for about 3 miles. I turned off the stereo and opened the windows so I could listen to it - great sound.

Last week, crossing road when heard something loud coming towards me. It was a bright yellow Hummer. Sounded pretty awesome and they are massive!

If a 350Z is your idea of a daily runner, I want to do whatever you do ;)

Steve

21k without the leather or SatNav, 26k with - not supercar money, even if it isn't Focus money, either

What I mean is that its a car you could live with on a daily basis, commute in etc... Hope that makes sense! :o

Lambo Diablo, one passed me once at what sounded to like full throttle whilst in a tunnel. Awesome sound

ive had a thing about the sound a 1992 cavalier SRi makes above 3500rpm :D

Don't be daft a 94 Ecotech sounds much better! :D

TVR speed 12?

yep
