So who hasn't remapped their car

Featured Replies

Seems like every man and his dog remaps the VRS :D, but who hasnt?

TBH it is one of the factors that attracted me to the car, and i think it really awakens it and puts it in a different league.

  • I know mines standard because I ask the first owner who was a middle aged family man if it had been remapped and his reply was its not got sat nav built in it's just a single cd player

  • Like I say, if it is 150bhp it works out over £17 for 1 bhp... Only reason I'd get my blt remapped is If the turbo goes and I get it replaced with a pd150 or hybrid. Once the turbos on I'm sure I'll b

  • My PD100 is mapped, best thing I ever did

Mines not mapped. But it's on the to do list.

Mines standard power. I've been wanting to remap it for years but cant be bothered now. would just mean spending more money upgrading brakes and possibly the suspension as the stock stuff can barely cope anyway.

Standard map but its got me driving it and ask broady vrs how quick it is his is mapped but mine is a blt so my have 150ish bhp

I've not mapped mine......

I've not mapped mine......

But someone else did ;)

Its funny, as there are so many tales of people getting them and not realising they've been previously remapped and in some cases badly.

I dont know if this is a record but honestly i owned mine for 3 hours and remapped it myself within 3 hours. It had the original map on and from what i seen it looked like it had never been remapped having only been owned by 2 people.

But someone else did ;)

Not to my knowledge

Not mapped mine either :)

...... also not convinced it has been as there is a shove of torque unlike my mates mapped vRS (by South West tuning) which was a nice smooth map.

hat said, grr666 has driven mine as reckons it could be, so who knows :S

The biggest thing for me when I got mine mapped was the smoothing of the power. It was nice to have a bit more too, but the stock map is awful, you realise going back to stock after a while.

Mine is standard, only "mod" are cupra cons bushes, but hey 140k on it now so maybe.....

I fear my turbo would shatter into a million pieces seen as I'm on 126k and no known turbo changes......I'm sure it will let go in its own time without my help!

Haven't remapped mine, also got a blt engine so 'assume around 150'ish bhp' meaning a safe remap to say... 170bhp at a cost of £350 = £17.50 per 1bhp (it's early for math!)

I think a standard 130bhp and ask for a remap to 175bhp would be abit different though.

Mine is not mapped either!

Not yet, but on the list at some point! If i don't chop it in for an r32

I have a blt and was 130 standard, depends on the rollers IMO

Mines not mapped either, on 103k and worry that the turbo will give way and I really don't want the expense :(

1 mapped and 1 not

Although that's only for insurance purposes

I swear I said this on another thread before..

There was a vid on youtube between mapped and stock in the ranges of 40-80mph.

stock ~17 secs

mapped ~9 secs

Edit: Ok I cant find the vid, so I could be lying...

non vRS 1.9TDi with 125HP unmapped. Map's on the 'to do' list though

I'm pretty sure you did, but I'm not overly bothered if it is or isn't right now as I still enjoy driving it in it's current form, I was just responding to the thread

mines done 160k and had a new turbo at 120, d'you think id be asking for touble if i mapped it?

Mines not been done. I want to but lack of cah isn't allowing at the moment. Also the clutch is on its way out so I need to get that sorted first
