need a clean, then no more vrs stains stupid seats!

Buddy i dont mean to sound against this as its epic either way.

220Hp and 170Lbs-ft (JDM K20) vs 180hp and about 175lbs-ft (Standard Occy)

Stage one on a 1.8T takes it to about 250lbs-ft maybe more - to get that from any honda you will HAVE to boost, unless you magically make the stroke about 150mm haha

I build a B18 Turbo for a friend and that was about 320hp and only made 225Ft-lbs granted it could have made more torque yes but he was on standard internals at the time

I built my own 2.3 Vtec engine and that made 260Hp and about 180lbs-ft - N/a on OBX ITB's tuned by me, i dropped about 3K in that engine to make them numbers, in a civic it was wild, in anything heavier i dont think it'd be special.

unless you've dropped 165+Kg from the occy there isnt a chance in hell it'd be lighter.

EP3 facelift (so the heaviest civic) Civic = 1210kg

Octavia = 1375kg

K20 = 183kg

1.8T = 137kg without a turbo + the turbo and other turbo parts and it'll be closer to 150KG so it'd be lighter.

I just dont see a benefit apart from noise and for it being really different. If any vtec engine mate id of bought a K24 Vtec as they produce a good amount of torque for a vtec downside is they are about 1.8K + to buy.

Good look with it buddy i will be watching this as i like things that are different!

hahah parkers quote? seen weights from 1300-1400 for Octavia, mine is fully stripped A/C setup gone aswell

i like what your saying but trust me you will love the end result ;)

plus noise :strong:

plus whos car will you really wanna see at the shows

No no the civic is bang on as i owned one and had it corner weighed.

The occy im going off my chassis weight under the bonnet.

None the less im not disputing the fact that it shall be a feat indeed, and will certainly put you in the spotlight

Im just asking you some questions to why you chose this route thats all matey.

To drop the required amount you'd have to nearly single skin the car as the WRC octavia (Not the wrc spec, i meant the full blown rally occy)was about 1250kg and that was well gutted to say the least.

dunno why i chose this idea for my master plan just seemed like it would be funny, when you see the final engine bay shot you face will be a picture trust. and if not ill give you the keys

really ripped 100kg+ out of this so gotta be around the same weight which is what i said didnt say lighter lol

  • Author

also i just had a thought surely wrc is 4wd? what size engine lol 4wd is heavy as feck

Yeah they really did drop some weight from them.

as much carbon as you could have, single skin, gram's taken from everything possible..

Even still it was one of the heaviest in its class, im sure it still was a highly modded 1.8t and 4wd

found a bit of info weighs 1230kg 2l tubby.

even if ours do start life at 1375kg can guarantee 125kg off mine so thats already 1250kg plus maybe lighter as may of save more and might of had lighter start

so will be quick as a ctr and thier ment to be rapid from reviews lol

Ah nice find! i wasnt far off eh!

CTR'S are quick, i wouldnt say rapid - They feel alot quicker than they are as its alot of drama inside the CTR's

Put it this way my mate had a 2004 CTR and he got trounced on by a 1.9TDI passat. Yes the passat was hybrid and the job lot, even still it was funny.

Now iv been in a EP3 with the full works, Kpro, Kinsler ITB's, Mahle high comp pistons, rods, etc etc, was about 320Hp on a good tune, now that was Rapid!

heavy old car for competition though!

ive never thought they were that quick tbh overrated,my cav gsi use to be like that bare metal inside straight through zhaust used to sound like a plane take off but wasnt that quick still more fun that a hybrid octy though!!! jesus i miss that car :'(

passat raped bahahahah

sounds like a beast!!!

Me personally iv only ever owned honda's so im in the same boat (Quite literally)

My octy is nice and plush, but hell fire nothing on the honda's "Razor edge" feeling, i mean i can throw the occy into a corner and hope it comes out ok, but with my civic i can throw it in and feel if the paint on the white lines is gloss or enamel!
