Does the foglight unit come out or do you remove the lower plastic grille & access the unit through there?

Ive had a search and not sure the previous posts relate to the round fog light unit.

Can anyone also advise the correct bulb for the foglight, the manual says it is an H8 bulb but have discovered through the vwaudi forum (google result!!) that this isn't the case.

Stroll on! I guess the only way to find out for certain is to remove my existing bulb then.

For a cooking Octavia, don't know how different the vrs is. Other than round.

I think you can get your hand round and pull the connector off, or a screw or two to take the whole unit out, which I think I had to because the connector was too tight for me to move at that angle. Mine is a HB4, according to my records.

Just googled, and from the looks, H8 and HB4 look the same physically, maybe different wattage though.

There seems to be lots of multi standard, multi naming of things like bulbs. PITA.

i have a copyright symbol and 2007 in the book.

Not H8 anyway for a 2012 reg vRS as I got some and they do not fit.

I have now ordered some HB4 so fingers crossed.

Stick your finger in the hole in the grill surround and pull it off. 3 torx screws to remove the lamp.

I don't think the glass alone is replaceable, I'm sure you need a whole new unit...

im not sure about pre-FL, but the glass comes off the front of my FL vRS model. its clipped together with a rubber gasket in between. come to think of it, the fabia vRS LED fog lights/DRLs are the same and come apart in the same way.
