  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Glad to help Wayne

You made the right choice deciding to keep it

All we need now is some cold weather!!

Tbh, I was never sure about 16" wheels. But having seen your all-black ones Wayne, I'm a bit of a convert. Good work Sir.

How much was the final bill for all of your winter wheel paraphernalia, if you don't mind me asking?

It was Chris who got me thinking!

Skoda wanted £700 for steel + winter tyres

or £1000 with alloys

I couldn't find any used Audi alloys + winters that I liked on ebay

So Chris said get some from www.MyTyres.co.uk!

Cheapest!

I promised u, he says!

And they were!

I paid £520 all inclusive of VAT/delivery for 16" steel wheels + Nokian winter tyres.

Delivered in a week - i think (or was that 2?)

I would have gone for AVON Ice T for £10 cheaper per tyre - but I prefered the Nokians.

Worth a group buy?

How did they perform Wayne?

They will struggle a little at first + its not cold enough for them to get optimum grip yet

Take care

CU soon

Don't know yet.

Drove soooo like Miss Daisy with those summer alloys

stack on top of each other in boot - was too worried thy might get scratched! Lol

Will know 2moro commuting to work and when they are bedded-in.

Looking at new set of Mcgard locking nuts from Halfords already.

At £30+ might just buy the Skoda ones at £18+ ...

Looks like Skoda then

Looks like Skoda then

For price deffo!

But prefer ones that would not lose grip or get worn easily ...

...so need more research!

The only reason those suffered was the idiot at the tyre garage that over tightened them Wayne..I would get the Skoda ones

Get the older genuine VAG ones, they are 'ABC' ones and use a deep spline on them. Avoid the latter 'EURO' ones with the shallow pattern as they are crap
