I found my Superb: She's called Audrey!

Featured Replies

Interesting that you are going from a Superb to an A4 and I am about to take the reverse trip. I need the space with two little ones. I hope that the quality change won't be too dramatic.

  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Still here!

Unless its common knowledge already...

Increased in numbers of VAG stereo nicked to order.

Latest victim, Audrey :-(

Witnesses say 10seconds they went into gated car park and out again!

Thy crawl under the gates!

Hooded and carried a small black box.

Thy seem to use a screw driver to break glass by leveraging against the door frame (hence leaving an indent on door frame)

I'd wondered where this thread had gone, well it's back but not in the best of light.

Little scrotes, any CCTV Wayne?

Gutted for you Wayne, little b@stards!

Was only looking a thread the other day where someone had asked where Audrey was - pity you've come back in such a bad way.

Hope insurance will cover it and any damage, was your's the only one targeted?

My old ford had a detachable channel selector to deter thievery of its £50 radio. Crazy that a £1000+ job has nothing like that.

£250 excess on insurance

Or £250 replace window myself + stereo :-(

That's a nightmare mate, sorry to see this. So they appear to have nicked the Columbus to order, which has now happened to three people I know including this. Am tempted to get some kind of cover.

So gutted for you. That is such a pain in the neck. Did you alarm go off? I hope your Columbus malfunctions and sets the scrotts on fire!!!

Have they damaged the car at all?

Gutted for you :(

That thing about the CCTV sounds a bit suspicious and very coincidental

Sounds like somebody knew somebody who knew something about the car park/site.

That makes me mad so can't guess how you feel. I Just hope the finger print chaps get a match for the little sh1ts.

The cctv so happens to be booked that day to be disabled and a new one put up.

It was the cctv install guys who witness the criminals and gave the details + reg plates

No damage apart from indent on door frame

Insurance will replace stereo / window for £250 excess.

This time not going thru skoda.

Police either raided the address the criminal van registered to tonight

(Or 2moro).

Safe n sound in garage to tonight.

Getting Citreon C1 on Sat courtesy car (no Audi this time :-(. )

That break in is horrible to see. Really feel for you. I agree with other comments that it sounds very suspicious with the CCTV being off at the time. Hope the people responsible get caught and that the repairs are sorted quickly.

Summary:

Happened thursday 31 oct (yesterday) 10:35 at work gated car park.

came in a white peugeot 307 van (maybe)

plates [MJ57 NLP]

Smashed window, grabbed stereo and gone in 10 seconds!!!

police say big increased in vag stereo s stolen past 3-4 months.

local garage say they are replacing 100s of these vag stereo s!!!

so,

are these stereo s interchangeable across all VAG cars?

are they that easy to remove?

and no security code/pin needed?

They are very easy to remove and fit cars from all vag brands.

I feel for you Wayne,

10 seconds is a bit optimistic IMO as they are held in by 4 screws, so;

break glass,

open door,

pop trim off,

undo 4 screws,

slide unit out and unplug the connectors in 10 seconds?
