The only reason those suffered was the idiot at the tyre garage that over tightened them Wayne..I would get the Skoda ones

I know.

But what's preventing that happening again when I get new tyres? :-(

  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Get the older genuine VAG ones, they are 'ABC' ones and use a deep spline on them. Avoid the latter 'EURO' ones with the shallow pattern as they are crap

Any idea how to spot the difference?

I will post a link when I getup

Lol

Only if the price is right.

Only if the price is right :-)

Ive not had any cause to grumble

ABC bolts:

New

Used

As you can see they have a deeper spline so the locking key can get more purchase, they do however need slightly smaller caps to go over them.

The ABC type probably is just referring to the different spline pattern (there are several different combinations)

Those are the ones on Wayne's car that are damaged because the tyre fitter over tightened them

Wayne...get a similar set from Skoda.

The only reason its damaged was because they were over tightened ..not a design fault

Ok Chris.

They all the same?

Wot difference between the Fabia set and the normal set (see pic in earlier post)?

As far as I know...no difference

Ask DM Keith..They will tell you
