 Always good fun winding up BMW drivers :D

Remember though the temperature guage refers to the water temperature and not the oil temperature which takes longer to warm up :D

Chris

Dont forget to trash the 318's - Classic looks when they dis a Furby, and get their posteriors tapped.

BTW any 1 know what the 320d & 520d is like for torque ?

The temperature gauge in the instrument panel?? That's for the oil Chris, not water.

The 320D has 340Nm of torque @ 2000rpm, and it carries 163bhp @ 4000rpm, and it weighs just under 1,500kgs. 0-100 in 8.3 seconds.. If you beat those specs 'Turbo', then good for you !

I think the temp was ok, first time i have ever put my foot down when it was totally up to working temp, it soon shot up anyway :P !!

The 320d stats are:

0-60 mph: 8.6 s

Power Output: 150 bhp

Torque: 330 Nm

Top Speed: 134 mph

Thought they were a tad better than that, not as suprised i beat him now

I don't think those specs are correct bro..I just checked the BMW website for those details I put up...

Thanks guys

Have been reluctant to see wot the 320d is capable of, So its off to get my car on an RR to see what is really currently under the bonnet :)

The temp gauge is actually for the water not the oil lol

Yeah its for water. I have had the vag plugged in before and the temp was higher than the guage. I think the gauge takes a while to catch up so I was probably at working temp.

Fabia 2.0RS ill go with your specs then! make my car look better :) ! although this wasnt a brand new 320d which your stats are probably off if you got them from the bmw site

Yeah it does make the vRS look better don't it :D

Guys are you sure the gauge is for water?????

  • Author

yeah deffo for water.

Have you ever been in traffic on a hot day, temp goes up then fan comes in to cool the radiator then temp goes down

It's hot here everyday man 40 degrees plus, and my gauge don't go over 1/2.

Is your car remapped? a standard furby vRS would have a job beating a new shape 320d with those stats unless the driver was not trying or was inept, no offence meant.

You may gain on it to about 80 mph but after then a standard vRS really struggles & the BMW does have much better areodynamics, also the rear wheel drive will help 0-60 runs hence the better figures, there are also numerous other factors to take into account, such as fuel load, what was in his boot/passengers etc, either way it would be a VERY close run thing, and you shouldnt of been able to just go by him, it should of been neck and neck really.

My car is remapped :D !!

Your right though standard would have had trouble as it still wasnt easy

Oh easy, a remapped furby would anhilate one, mine after the jabba remap and strangely particuarly after the tt vent mod seems to keep with CTR's from a standing start, and my brother clio 172 gets left behind after 90mph.

  • Author

he was definately trying too. 3 figures on a "private" forest road!!

How much is your remap turbo?

  • Author

It is a 170bhp remap. not quite as good as the jabba and revo ones but im pretty happy with it.

My car has NEVER gone over 1/2 on the temperature gauge. As a matter of fact, it's something I specifically noticed. If it's water temperature then that would be extremely odd - been in traffic jams and still didn't go up.

My metro's gauge would go up to about 3/4 on the temp gauge & then the fan would kick in. On this car you can't tell as the diesel is more noisy and my car is sound-proofed which would muffle the sound of the fan out anyway.

Word WW :D

170BHP Turbo??? Geez man, why din't you say that in the beginning, no wonder you raped the guy. You have 20 horses more, and you have a lighter car!!!! :orb_blah_

good point. I only just got it done, still getting used to it so I was pretty happy to see the difference it made by beating the BMW

Do you really think the TT Vent AKA Pikey mod is that significant?

  • Author

Yeah it seems pretty good to me. Like you say its an of the shelf job but at a special price of
