I think we should meet up with Mr Fox and his trailor avec CityGoGo and give him a Briskoda escort to the event (where the Skoda UK officials will crawl all over the mega car) and say to themselves 'lets put the 1.4 tsi in a CityGo and call it the BriskyGo!'

I prefer that way but roadworks from J5 to J7 have made it a nightmare, hopefully done and dusted by July. I could tag on at Wrotham Heath M20/26 junction or happy to go to the dark side via the tunnel. It looks like a convoy of sorts is a probability

Yes we will be going M20 then south side

We will probably leave Folkestone around 5.30 (it took 2.5hrs last week to get from the M40 Gaydon junction to Folkestone) to arrive at 8am ish.

I know it goes against the grain (and I'll update on this closer to the time), those going round the south-side are highly recommended to stay in lane 2 between Jct 5&6 on M25. The hard-shoulder has become lane 1. They ripped out all the drains and "repaired" the holes.....with rice pudding! It's just full of pot-holes, and not just from the drains. The surface was in a bad way before it got used daily, now it really is just awful! It's only a matter of time before there's an accident due to the poor condition of the surface.

We are interested in joining the convoy too, especially as SWMBO has just bought herself a vRS Octy.....

(Not sure whether to bring that or my Superb, depends on a coin flip on the day!)

We could start from Thurrock or South Woodham, so meeting on or near Jcts 28 or 29 would work for us, any further thoughts on

that, or should we all arrange to meet up a bit further around the M25, possibly South Mimms services?

There is the fuel station a very short distance up the Brentwood road that's almost right on the roundabout at J28 and has parking space outside.

We can meet there and then plod along the M25 while the others catch us up.

I know that gas station, agreed it's a sensible place to meet.

We'll be in a Silver Superb or a blue Octy vRS, so plodding along a motorway will be second nature for us.........

Me & Lee (Ashford) are planning to head up to Gaydon & I've PM'd Dark_Hero to see if we can all link up to travel around the southern side. Obviously we'll be heading up from Shepway/Ashford area & would be great if we could link in with anyone else on route!

Do I need to pre-book for the event etc, this being my first one?

Just to update and bump this as we are about a month away...

 

I believe the Citigo will be going to the meet on a trailer from Jabbasport.

So I won't be towing it and slowing everyone down.
