Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have been looking around for an estate car for around 2 months now and have found the above car. Just looking for users experience with this model. Is there anything I should look out for or any common problems.

Cheers,

Craig.

I'd buy that. Just be sure to check that it's not been a taxi & been clocked.

22k on a 59 is mega low miles

I'd first check that mileage on a car that age. Is its dealership car?

Sounds good if genuine :)

Cheers for the replies!

It's through a dealership, it started as a hire car for the first 7000 miles then went through skodas main garage for a full service and check before being released to skodas dealership in the UK, previous owner purchased it before trading in for an upgraded model. This is all the information on the device log. Went to dealership and loved the car, it's in totally minted condition. Took it for a test drive and was very happy.

Cheers,

Craig.

What is the price?

The car is basically brand new, providing all checks come back I'd be all over it.

Very rare to find a low mileage example like that with the SE being a good spec & the 1.9 being a beast of an engine.

Go buy

Agree with Taxi_G there. Snap it up. :)

Trading my 103,000 mile Punto in and getting it for 9,500.

Glad I found this forum now.

Cheers,

Craig.

Sounds great.

Have a close look at all the paperwork and make sure there are service records (ideally invoices), bills etc to back up that mileage. Just because it's from a dealership, doesn't mean it's not been clocked in the past.

It might be genuine, I hope it is.

But just make sure your check all relevant paperwork to be 100% sure,

Someone may be able to correct me, but if you get someone with vag tacho they can tell if its been clocked.

The fourm is brilliant mate, endless pages of stuff on skoda's

P.S, very little faults on the cars, my last 60 plate dmf failed at 58k miles & was replaced under warranty

I also recently bought a low mileage 1.9.

Mine's a 57 plate and had 20,283 miles.

Full dealer service history and the condition of the car backed it all up (pretty much like new).

The only thing with low miles like these is they have likely done a lot of town journeys.

Ours is going in for a DMF change under warranty. Not fussed. The rest of the car is sweet and I just see the positive that we are getting a brand new DMF for nothing.

Good luck with it and enjoy. The 1.9 PD105 is actually a pretty nice engine and feels much smoother than the 1.9 PD130 ASZ we had previously.

In regards to checking the mileage I think you can just do it with VCDS. Access the instruments and view the miles and then access the ECU to see if they match.

In regards to checking the mileage I think you can just do it with VCDS. Access the instruments and view the miles and then access the ECU to see if they match.

You can indeed check the ECU stored mileage with VCDS. This is recorded separately from the odometer mileage reading, and in theory can show up a clocked car.

Unfortunately it's not full proof, as some of these "mileage correction" providers will also change the stored mileage on the ECU and also make sure there are no stored fault codes with mileage recorded......Swine's.
