Snow foamed the yeti this afternoon

Featured Replies

1" of magifoam, add warm water, dont fill bottle right to top (about 3/4).

Have the dial set to - and then dial it back a touch towards +, blades open just about 2mm.

This combo gives a really thick foam.

  • When the yeti arrives I will be polishing til there is no paint left probably Poor Juke has been neglected for best part of three years and now is getting some pampering before trade in. I'm saying

  • You're not alone with that thought. I seem to neglect the roof as it means getting something out to stand on, to clean / wax it properly.   I have a mate who "details" cars occasionally, and he spen

  • I must take you up on a couple of points here: 1. Magifoam is pH neutral, so isnt going to strip of your wax 2. There is no such thing as a touchless wash...Always follow up the snow foam with a rin

Thanks, who makes Magifoam?? and where am I likely to get it locally?? :)

I have the Karcher snow foam nozzle with the yellow dial on it. :)

Autobrite...you can buy online or try googling local stockists.

+1

I would also say cut down on the amount of magifoam you are using, I find 1” in the bottle is still too much, I experimented today with the mixture and have now settled for ¾” in the bottle, topped off with warm water. (granted my pressure washer is 130 bar)

My preshure washer is 145 bar........

Naah naah naah naah naaaaaah. :p

Thank you Marie. :)

It happens this week there is a bargain price for a "LAVOR Skipper Junior 130" cold water pressure cleaner on a sales site.

Does someone know this Italian brand and despite it's "made in China" - is it a quality product ? Does someone here own such or similar LAVOR product ? Of course its price is much lower than KARCHER's price.

Opinions will be appreciated.

Sorry, but the ONLY pressure washer I would EVER consider would be karcher.

Karcher is still a family owned firm, and they test EVERY item before it leaves the factory.

Get yourself a 'proper' snow foam lance then..

The Karcher ones are just shampoo applicators..

They dont work as well

I used to think the same, until I realised (after it died) that they now use plastic heads on some of their pumps, this is the weak link, I upgraded to a Kranzle and TBH you cannot compare the two … they are leagues apart.

I've just been cleaning the juke this morning, getting some practice in for my new yeti.

Snowfoamed with magifoam and autobrite lance using new nilfisk pressure washer.

Rinsed well, dried with squeegee blade thingy and towel.

Used tardis to remove the tar around bottom of doors etc.

Rinsed well.

Autoglym shampoo and conditioner, rinsed well.

Dried with squeegee and towel again.

Sprayed with sonax brilliant shine detailer.

I'm away to research alloy cleaner next.

Juke has never been pampered so much :sun:

I have a Nilfisk C110-35 pressure washer. To be fair when working it is fine but I have had to have a new trigger unit (in warranty) and now two months out of warranty the O ring on the hose connection to the trigger has buckled and am awaiting a new one! Otherwise it is fine. So, does your Autobrite lance click on the Nilfisk lance OK?

Yes, I did have some bother fitting it but it was just me being an idiot and not pushing the connection far enough.

Not washed the yeti in four months so thought it was time to give the car a good going over so splashed out on a snow foam lance and some magifoam from autobrite and blasted the car with it

Then to finish gave it a full wax over all lovely and shiny now just have to less lazy with the washing intervals.

That looks like an amazing result for me, well done!

Best regards!

All this talk about pressure washers really makes me envious, we had a water meter fitted (compulsorily) recently and have now been told we use ABOVE average amount of water.

Two pensioners, no kids, 3 water butts, small garden, no hose pipe. What's that all about? :wall:

Must be the cat.

Maybe someone is visiting your property at night and syphoning your butts fred :giggle:

Snow foaming again today.. after a jaunt to Perth yesterday the car was peppered with dead beasty things.

Magifoam this time, much better, thicker and seems to lie on the car longer and thats with less than 1" agent.

I find Citrus pre-wash shifts more than the snow-foam does, and I usually clay the car too. You might also want to consider some iron-x or similar, for using a couple of times per year. Amazing what that brings out.

Maybe I need some better snow foam, though the pre-wash is less messy on the drive...

Hi servicepoint, I notice you have a Karcher like me, and I was just wondering what snow foam applicator do you have??

Autobrite lance , I looked at others but decided on this as it gets good reviews and seems decent quality.I bought it through the detailing world offer with the magifoam 5lt and small supersnow foam. Quite happy with it and Autobrite were very good to deal with.

Why envy ? IMO pressure washers are affordable in EU, in Israel they are still pricey (even not "pro level" washers). I have to be envious about prices in EU.

Just ordered this week a LAVOR pressure washer for equiv. of about 150 euro while in EU it is sold for less than 100 euro- as I could see on EU sales sites. Obviously, KARCHER are much pricey.

Why fear about water waste ? Pressure washers are known to use about only 20% water comparing to same job done with garden hose !

About the cat- I don't know- we have a dog...

I'm not worried about the cost of a pressure washer, in fact I have one but I can't afford to use it since they put the blasted water meter in!

If you have a water butt most pressure washers will run from them, soft water so no water marks after washing. I'm going to put a butt or two in for that reason, and most wash and wax works better with soft water.
