how handy do you find them?

Featured Replies

how do yous all find the fog lights on the superb, i love them especially on pitch black roads they light up the side of the road very well and what is it with the cornering fogs is is available on a s spec 1.6 diesel superb

For me I think they're pointless. Had them on my last 10 cars and not found the need to use them.

I have them fitted to my greenline but wish the money skoda had spent on fitting them had been spent on standard iPod compatability or heated screen. This would have been much better. If it has been foggy and ive attempted to use them the light bounces right back at you and IMHO makes visibility worse. Ive found the cornering function pointless as bends I mainly travel around are greater than 40kmh so they dont function and if im at a junction they are generally lit or im looking down the road and not into the small area of light on the kurb. Don't even get me started with them coming on when your reversing, I see no gain with this whatsoever. Give me a pair of xenons like I had on my Vrs as these were excellent.

I know this post may make me sound grump, but I love my greenline, I think it's incredible, I just really don't get front fog lights. Especially the amount of people who drive round with them on permantently dazzling everyone trying to look cool.

+1

If only I had some lights that I could flash back that projected "stop driving like a tw*t" into their retina. Suppose I could get one of those scrolling text LED units and stick it in the rear window, for those idiots that drive behind me with their foglights on when it isn't even remotely foggy.

For the record, Fog lights should only be used in Fog and falling snow, otherwise it is an offence to use them, resulting in a fine.

It gives the police one further reason to pull you over.

Never used them, don't have the fog which warrants them.

Although they don't because I think they struggle to tell the difference between them and DRLs sometimes.

Pointing around the corners is really useful in country Victoria where there are no street lights - and sometimes no streets.

As pointed out above. I find them useless as fog lights even in the fog.

I do however find the slow speed cornering lights to be fantastic. When out on a dark night with no street lamp I often find myself turning in road ends driveway etc whilst doing hires. These are a revolution when nosing into 90 lanes and driveways that may have boulders, small raised wall and they highlight them when turning in.

Agree with the comments above. I can't stand the habit of having them on all the time. Dangerous i know but I've started stcking the beams on if anyone approaches me with their fogs on. Well, they started it!

Only used them the once in thick fog and they were fine until I reached town and could switch them off. Otherwise the cornering function is nice to have out here in deepest, darkest, Fenland :)

Same here . love the cornering lights out here in the sticks dont think ive used fog lights in years front or rear .

i just like them for very dark roads, they illuminate the side of the road very well and i do like that, never had any fog yet so don't know what it will be like in that

It's not the foglights that bother me, it's the wandering beams from the Xenons doing their 'clever' stuff round corners and the like which distract me! It those instances (i.e. in fog) where the beams from the headlights can be seen, it makes the extra fixed light from the fog lights much appreciated!

Technology gone daft!

Cant you turn that off or rather not turn it on in the first place ??

Just turning the light switch to the ON position (rather than AUTO) turns the adaptive beam system off.
