Felicia Rear Drums & Wheel Bearings

Got wheel bearings done (one side) in no time, but spent most of the rest of a very long day changing a wheel cylinder. Had to get the blowlamp on the union but the two allen headed bolts were never going to move so took off the backplate and drilled them out.Now with a bleed screw at each corner I did manage to bleed all the brakes but to be honest the pedal still feels a bit poor to me even in comparison with my old 127. Are Felcia brakes generally like this or should I be looking for another cause? Also a question about wheel cylinders...are they all the same for 1.3s without ABS including the estate?I bought two from different sources (one Lucas, one Pagid) and they look rather too different to me, Wheras the Lucas one is pretty much identical to the one that it replaced the Pagid looks to be shorter and has no ridges on the cylnder ends to seat the shoes.I guess I should double check the part number on the box.

There is 3 types of rear wheel cylinder fitted to uk spec cars, the pickups have the largest ones, the only difference between them is the piston diameter on the smaller two

6U0 611 053 B wheel brake cylinder 19,05mm

6U0 611 053 A wheel brake cylinder 22,2mm

So are you saying there are two types of 22.2mm cylinders?

I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that the pick-up and estate (kombi) have the same.

That would kind of explain it, although the Pagid cylinder I have is listed by Eurocarparts as the one to fit the pick-up (and the hatchback for that matter).

Or perhaps the actual part I got from Eurocarparts is incorrect (ie mislabelled by them)?. . Certainly the pic on their website shows a tapered boss for the union, which the cylinder I have doesn't have.

I can't find anywhere on the net to check the Pagid article number

Appreciate I'm answering myself by VAGCAT.com identifies the part number as 6U0 611 053 A for all 1999 variants with a 22.2mm cylinder

So hatchback/estate/pickup can all have the same fitment it seems?.

I'm none the wiser really...I need the cross reference for that part by Pagid.

Hi I am the new owner of a Fun. It has been a nightmare getting it sorted after the previous owner misled me about its history. My fault entirely. Anyway my problem is the rear wheel brake cylinders. The near side is one size with an actuator device on it whilst the offside is much smaller! Bodge job I feel. However we are finding it impossible to get the correct cylinder from part factors. Is there a definitive part number for the brake cylinder for a 2000 yr 1.6 petrol Skoda Felicia Fun?

wheel brake cylinder

22,2MM /

Key for the felicia fun is the inner bore diameter of 22.2 mm
