VCDS Scan - steering controller compatibility

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Wanting to retrofit cruise control, and looking for confirmation on compatibility before committing funds. I've lined up a replacement steering control module (1K0 953 549 CQ, from Styler67) and had my car scanned. Just a couple of questions:

Address 16: Steering wheel Labels: 1K0-953-549-MY9.lbl

Part No SW: 1K0 953 549 DA HW: 1K0 953 549 DA

Component: J0527 053 0111

Coding: 0000002

Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00999

VCID: 74EDECF717E8D9B8354

1) My DA module appears to be lowline. Correct?

2) Both mine and Styler67's CQ module are the same slip ring and steering angle sensor type. On these grounds, is his compatible with my car in terms of retrofitting cruise control?

3) My S spec doesn't have a trip computer (no buttons on wiper stalk), but the dash does display speed, distance, service interval etc. Is trip computer functionality just a case of pairing the midline controller with a replacement wiper stalk?

Friday bump :hi:

I know cruise control threads are ten a penny on here, so I'll keep it brief...

All I really need to know is whether Styler67's midline module (1K0 953 549 CQ) is compatible with my car which currently has a lowline module (1K0 953 549 DA).
