Blackline - why no heated seat :-/

Featured Replies

Who in the right mind thinks that none heated leather seat is a good idea! My arse has been freezin all week! Major oversight! WISH I had heated seats :-(

I also wondered about this.....but then i remembered that heated seats make me feel sick so i put up with the cold backside (mine, not someone else's).

Skoda cost cutting i presume !!

it's cold for about 10 seconds on a frosty morning, never had the need for heated seats as your backside soon gets used to not having them! had full leather in my last Audi for 4 years and it wasn't an issue..

Seat heating is a separate option whether you have cloth or leather. I thought the same but then I havent really missed it and have received nearly 900 pounds worth of vRS leather for nothing so Im not arguing; also likely to stand the test of time much much better than the standard trim.

You could be a bit wrong on the leather part there, can't say I've heard of anyone complaining on hear about the std vrs seats falling apart. You also have to clean and feed the leather on a regular basis to stop it drying and cracking.

are you able to have a set retro fitted, doesnt have to be skoda ones, ive seen plenty on enay that are designed to fit inside the seat cushions

I hadn't thought about it until I got into the car the other night wearing football shorts... there were a couple of deep breaths!

If you're gonna buy a motor which you get quite a lot of free stuff chucked on at the expense of not allowing one to pick & choose any other options, then you can't grumble. ;)

Some people want the moon on a stick! :giggle:

Ive got one of them in my blackline its called a dsg lever.

You think it's bad now?

Wait until the height of summer. You won't be wearing shorts whilst driving :giggle:

I know for a fact the cream alcantara turns to **** on the standard seats in no time at all unless you take good care of them; one reason id have probably got the vRS alcantara trim had i factory ordered one.

Didnt personally want leather but thats what the Blackline comes with and now I have it actually really like it; quality is no worse than that of a VW's. Ive not read anything about the leather seats cracking and drying out....in fact a fair portion of the coverings are artificial and the same material as the normal vRS seat bolsters, backrests and head rests

don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about the interior, nice place to be and tks for throwing it in for free however leather and heated seats go together for me. I'm sounding like a fanny however its a pity as its frikin freezin

Love my heated seats.

There's probably more cow in a Findus lasagne than my blackline seats...

What gets me with the vRS leather option is that if you upgrade to leather you are paying an awful lot of money for the seat centres to be filled in with leather as the standard vRS comes with half leather anyway, although a very good proportion of it is simulated leather anyway! But yes no heated seats on a car with leather is just cost cutting, love me black alcantara with heated seats the correct vRS mix in my opinion, and no scorch marks on my legs this coming summer when I have my shorts on too! I think leather is a nice luxury to spec when buying a car but has too many downsides for me to want pay a premium for it.

On an L&K it's only the front seats that are proper leather, the rears are a faux leather material. I suspect all octy's will be similar.

one thing I hate about the standard vRS seats is the fussy colour combination, looks ugly in my opinion, that's what I love about the Blackline, full black leather, just can't beat it!

I didn't know that.....it looks very good for faux leather......are you sure they use faux in the rear?

This is why I never purchased a vrs before - the light fabric at the front of the standard seats did nothing for me, and with a young family this was a disaster waiting to happen. The salesman said to me that it was wipe clean to restore it back to normal - aye right.

At least with the all leather it hides marks a bit better and does indeed wipe away kids dirty shoe marks.

I think the best combo is alcantara with heated seats and this is what I would have gone for if the blackline hadn't turned up.

Interestingly, sure I saw a photo of the rear section of a european vrs and where the air vents were was heater switches for the rear passenger - now this would an extra level of luxury.

As a fellow Scot I would like to applaud good use of the classic Scots double positive.

At the height of summer my climate control will be blowing hot, it'll be raining and I'll not be wearing shorts.....

I think that is a mistake. All the wear areas of the seats are real leather but the seat backs (not the back seats!!) are faux leather.

Yes, that makes sense.....I'm sure that's what he meant!

by "seat backs" do you mean the bit my toddler keeps kicking and wiping dirty feet on?
