Who's happy with the standard Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

Far from happy with ours. The most unreliable car I have had in over 20 years of car ownership.

Ah you've gotthe new gearbox, the old gearbox shaves about 0.0127492 seconds off that 0-60 time

As much as that

Jesus this calls for some more B&Q off the shelf goodies to be fitted :D

Completely standard here and I love it to bits. More than fast enough for me AND I'll have NO warranty issues

can i quote that when something majour goes wrong? and it will eventually

Im loving it. But will no doubt mod it evenutally. Even though there aren't that many vRSs on the road *yet* I'd still like my car to be a little bit different ;)

Great as standard, but no doubt greater modded.

Its a damn site nicer to drive than my new 2.0 TDi Octavia Elegance.

Personally I think the "old" 130 engine is a better unit than the 2.0 L 140

I absolutely love my Fabia vRS. I can honestly say that it's the best car I have ever owned. Speed, Handling, Comfort, Boot space. Etc...

Sorry, I meant to say Octavia vRS. I love my Octavia vRS. :D

I think my fabia VRS is superb!! it has the odd little problem (Such as the electric wing mirrors occasionally working together when i select left instead of independantly) but apart from that it is great. As far as i know it is standard (Bought it second hand from lightcliffe skoda in huddersfield).

I still try to find excuses to drive it !!

Steve

Now now lego, we've told you many times, your fabia is NOT a superb

Love my Furby. It is pound for pound the best value car I can find. Superb grin inducing performance and economy. Best of all wifey who owns a Celica wont drive the Furby she says its to fast :)

Oh yes and the car is standard.

I am more than happy with my one in standard form. Had it for about 9 months now, previously had a VERY modded Impreza for 2 years.

Sure, wheel spin is an issue, lack of boot space is an issue but most of the time i'm pottering around London getting nice fuel consumption and its saving me a PACKET over my last car.

Of course, for a young single male, its still impossible for me to afford a house, its just a little less impossible with the furby saving me all this money ;)

Performance wise its nice, anything which involves a rolling start and you're laughing, I reckon it would beat a standard Impreza from 40-70 to be honest, I ALWAYS had problems with even mild hatches once rolling in the scoob (before the new turbo, samcos, fuel pump, regulator and remap that is).

Happy with mine, my combination of urban/motorway journeys works great with the vRS, the handling/ride suits me fine, and the in-gear accelaration is still surprising. Just wish the gearchange was a bit less 'clunky'. :)

I have had mine since march and am a very happy driver. Love the car to bits and still standard. As a Field Engineer travelling around all over the place it's probably the best car I could have bought with the money. Not one issue with it.

Not looking to mod it. Only thing I want to do is retro fit Sat Nav, which should be a nice DIY project. (not paying dealer prices for it.)

you know you want a carpc ;)

you know you want a carpc ;)

Got any info on it? web link or forum posts?

Had a thought on your screen fitting issue. Ditch you symphony head unit and remove the tray underneath. get a sound system in the back and hook the pc up for your music, could fit your screen nicely in the hole left in the dash

i've already ditched the symphony, its running into the kenwood to drive the speakers, however, once the head unit is gone i'd still have to fabricate some kind of fascia for it.

edited to say sorry in case this hijacks the thread!

... if only the car was MUCH quieter.... ... the noise is getting me down...

I've had mine a week now. Still having to behave myself until I get some more miles on the clock :-(

I'm perfectly happy with it as standard at the moment, previous car was a Volkwagen Bora which I'd had for over 4 years. No complaints with the suspension and brakes so far. The brakes on the Bora were very good and the Furby's are as good. The suspension is a lot stiffer than the VW which is turn is stiffer than the Golf Mk4. My car feels stiffer than other vRS' I've driven. I can't quite explain this one, as the demo cars I've driven had a good ride but got floaty when pushed, yet my car feels closer to the rock hard suspension in the Ibiza FR. Road noise is more noticeable on poor surfaces which is my only real annoyance at the moment. I suspect this is down to the tyres, the demo cars had Michelin Pilots on them mine has Bridgestone Turanza's.

Fuel consumption is good. The Bora was averaging around 30, I've had 44 so far from the Furby with a mix of fun A-road stuff and short town journeys which seems good for a new engine.

Me too. :(

However - A SEAT Ibiza engine soundproofing thing, as well as a Dynamat Extreme Bulk pack and some dense fibreboard floor insulation should do wonders to solve that! Then in with the stereo and I won't care!

I do think a lot of the problem is with the tyres. My Bridgestone Turanzas are the noisiest tyres in the world. But atleast they are grippy. Rolled over 5k miles this morning, and they look half worn on the front, so not long til I can justify the 17" wheels and new tyres I lust!

I love my Furby and haven't modded it

unsure if I will mod it

Oh hold on Does a Steel Front wheel classify as a mod?

Quite happy with it, although the Cupra intake, green filter & strut made a nice difference :)
