Yes, BMC had a good stab at it, but didn't quite pitch all the cars at different levels of the market.

They really did demonstrate in a spectacular fashion, how to loose money by the truck load if you get the marketing wrong.......oh and build awful cars in the process!

seems that Audi used to use a V10 Lambo engine as well, that would end up a bit expensive to fix as it got older.

The V10 is a VW designed engine.. lambo used this in the gallardo which was the first lambo designed after VW bought them (they are owned by VW)

Also used in VW (phaeton + touareg)

And audi (A8.. Q7.. R8 etc)

Also used in bentley GT (also owned by VW)

VW own the lot.

Audi have a say in how they design there cars.. but not much.. more trim/ material options etc..

The engines ALL come from VW
