Cost of exhaust replacement

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just had my exhaust replaced on my Felicia 1.3 (middle section and rear silencer).

It cost £136 inc.VAT. Was I ripped off, or is this about right?

when you add labour costs onto of the cost of the parts then that doesn't seem too bad a price. You could have saved money and bought the bits off eBay and fitted it all up yourself but at least you never had to get your hands dirty, after all it's horrible fiddling with car exhaust systems.

Good, thanks. I could never be bothered with fitting it myself, so don't mind paying someone else to do it.

I just paid nearly £45 for a centre box but like Teflon Tom says it was horrible. It's never as easy flat on the cold concrete as it looks on a lift. I've still got to sort out alignment problems as the cat/downpipe sometimes knocks on the front crossmember.

If you got the two done for that price it sounds like good value and cheaper than my local exhaust place wanted for just the centre box.

^ Agreed guys, it's pretty competitive fitted & as you say saves all the hassle ;)
