No response from controller

Featured Replies

Hi everybody

I can't communicate with my cars and I can't figure out if my problems are wiht the software or the hardware.

I've tried with both my 2001 Fabia and my 1999 Passat with the same result. I've also tried using 2 different computers.

I use VCDS-Lite 1.1. The computer dual boots and this OS does nothing but VCDS. I've disabled everything I could in the task bar. I've tried baud rates at 0 and 9600 and all the USB ports. The radio of the car was disconnected.

When i tested the COM port I got a response, but the latency is high it says. But every time I try a control module I get an error saying no response from controller.

The strange part is, that 4 months ago it worked fine and now I can't get anything from either of my cars. I guess it could be that both cars had a faulty connector at the same time but thats not very likely.

Any suggestions to how I can find out if its my settings or my hardware?

I'm also having this problem..

I would guess it is down to the cable, I used to have this with my cheap cable, particularly on SWMBOs Leon but since I got the full fat proper cable it has always connected first time with no issues.

Contact your supplier and they should be able to help you.

Thanks

It's always nicer to get an answer "I don't have a clue", than being ignored all together.

I'll try to get hold of another cable to test my car and computer or contact the cable supplier.

Solved - or sort of.

I tested with a freinds cable and it turns out mine is broken. Just wanted to give the conclusion in case someone with the same problem finds this thread.
