Octavia II LED tail lights

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought the LED lights from Chinese Octavia and I have the problem. The lights is working, but only LED's on top and down (not the full "C").

Any idea how can I connect side LED's? (more info in Thumbnails)

Thanks a lot!

Are there any LED's down the side to light up? Probably only comes with top and bottom.

You've bought the wrong ones (non-genuine). The cheaper versions don't have the LED's down the side.

See post #52, this guy found the same problem...

Send them back and pay more for the genuine Skoda clusters fitted to the Chinese Octavia...

Or buy the Dectane LEDs from Germany?

Dectane's are for estate only.

Oh and the Chinese ones - if you can actually source a genuine set, will throw up a bulb out error.

Even if you turn off the cold start diagnostics?

Dectane's are for estate only.

My mistake, hadn't taken on board that it's a hatch :(

Why would the OE led light units show a bulb error. As they are oe fit, would they not be designed to fit straight in no problems with any needed resistors fitted inside.

Where can these chinese full led lights be purchased? Chinese ebay? Anyone know the rough cost pls?

On the break model from dectane you have 2 separate plugs for the side lights. They work normal 12v and donnot show bulb error.

Quick update while on topic. I've been on touch with dectane again and here is the reply i got it maybe worth holding off on your Chinese lights.

I asked about tail lights for the hatchback

We will start to sell this product in the next two months.

The articlenumber is: RSK04L

That was sent few weeks ago so keep your eyes peeled. I will most certainly be buying a set.

They are for the 1Z which is the estate. I can't wait for the hatch ones to be released they will look great on my black vrs.

I fix it! Thanks to this thread (guy). http://www.briskoda....rb-feeler-only/

hi,

Lights function correctly if you do a little modification on the electrical wiring.

Easy to do, but not easy to explain with my poor english O:-)

So, the origin connection in the octavia is done with 5 electric wiring.

The led light need 6 electric wiring.

The origin light have 2 bulbs separetly powered. We must take one + from one of these two bulbs and put into the empty space in the connection.

If we don't do that, some led doesn't function.

here is the connection.

1 new +

2 light + fog light

3 ground

4reverse

5 flasher

6light + stop

silver1011: I think you are wrong, imo there is only one model of this lights, but some come plug and play (with some done modifications). I have Škoda mark on mine, part number 1ZD 945 095A (left) and 1ZD 945 096A (right).

Emm... what are you doing with your old ones lol

Why would the OE led light units show a bulb error. As they are oe fit, would they not be designed to fit straight in no problems with any needed resistors fitted inside.

Because they are designed for the Chinese Octavia and not for the UK Octavia.

The very fact that there are LED's on the back of the Chinese version shows that it's cold monitoring is different from the UK's.

With regards "are these fake" have you looked at the pictures of the inside of the cluster as posted by the OP?

There is no way VAG would send out units looking like that, lose wires and uncovered circuit boards everywhere.

Because they are designed for the Chinese Octavia and not for the UK Octavia.

The very fact that there are LED's on the back of the Chinese version shows that it's cold monitoring is different from the UK's.

I understand what you said, but I can't get my head around skoda changing the cold monitoring settings for one country.

Don't think that will happen , I have spent countless hours looking for a way to contact them (Dectane) to see if they are going to do any for the hatchback. No luck so far. Have even found quite different " lexus style " versions alas again only for the estate/combi. What gives ? looks like nobody buys the hatchback in the rest of europe .....sigh !

I did receive and email back from dectane with a part number an was advised they will begin to sell them in te next two months. Only time will tell if this actually happens. I hope it does because I'm sure they would be in high demand. I have the contact details for kristoph who works for dectane he often emails with details if the hatchback designs.

The estate looks way better anyway :)

.......especially black with the black clusters! :)

1Z is the code for the MK2, regardless of body style.

IIRC (and I think Brimma will soon correct me if I'm wrong) but the Dectanes have LED indicators as well as stop/tail/fog, and that the only filament was the reverse light.
