Yeti do not make good snow ploughs...

Featured Replies

Spooky road, nothing wrong with this Yeti ploughs on regardless......

You just need to drive it faster so the wind blows the snow off the bonnet - around 50mph should do it :giggle:

Chance would be a fine thing. No snow up here - just back to rain :rain:

Cool vid, shows the capabilities of the yeti, what winter tires are you using?

Looks like fun! Those wipers look a lot more aggressive than mine. :wonder:

Continental WinterContact TS810 rear, TS810 front.

Bosch aero twin blades.

Maybe the wrong type of snow, to fluffy

OK getting my coat now :hi:

This is something I have also noticed of late -albeit with water rather than snow. When driving through pools of standing water off-road, I get most of the splash coming over (and onto) the bonnet and on the windshield, rather than being "fanned" to the sides. Of all the cars I have owned, this is the first that I have ever noticed doing this.

Sounds like it is the first self washing car you have owned then....

:giggle: I wish it were so! It's quite the opposite, as the puddles I'm referring to usually contain particularly nasty mud which ends up splashed all across the bonnet... Combining that with the massacre of bugs that occurs on the motorway to and from these weekend trips, the Yeti goes in for a proper wash pretty much after every weekend...

This is something I've also encountered, but tends to be more of an issue when you hit a large puddle on the inside of a left hand bend. Depending upon the depth of the puddle the 'wash' can totally obliterate your forward vision - not good. My route to & from work has a few of these, so now if it is safe to do so will avoid said puddles by drifting out wide otherwise I put the wipers on in anticipation. Speed is a factor as you would expect, but even at low speed you can get a good washing!!! Had a the same issue with the Octavia I owned prior to getting a Yeti.

At one time I used to love splashing through big puddles but avoid them like the plague now, as you never know what pothole horrors are lurking underneath, ready to shred tyres and wreck alloys.

ow, as you never know what pothole horrors are lurking underneath, ready to shred tyres and wreck alloys.

Likewise, my grandson used to enjoy the deep puddle journey to his house but we now avoid this route for exactly the reasons you've stated.

One advantage of 'automatic wipers' is they respond quickly to this situation!

Rockhopper....where was that filmed ? I grew up in and around your area. Is it somewhere in the North Downs ?

I was like thinking whilst watching the vid saying drive faster your going to get stuck in the snow and eaten by wolves or something then realised 4x4 FTW

Yes. Round the back of Warlingham.

I have been trying work out all morning where it was filmed....sad as I am. I thought it was (white Lane) the little road that connects the B2024 (nr Tatsfield) with Titsey Hill, but it does not seem steep enough.

Yes. Round the back of Warlingham.

Thought it was!

Didn't try Bug Hill then?

How's Warlingham? Only the bro-in-law there now, so don't go down very often!

Didn't try Bug Hill then?

Bug Hill. ????

Yes, Bug Hill.

Near Warlingham.

(well that's what my wife calls it!!)

We used to use it instead of Succombs Hill sometimes.
