MDI > iPod Issues, Advice Please.

Featured Replies

Hey,

Wanted to see if anyone has had this issue before. I have issues playing my iPod Classic through my MDI interface in my Monte. I got it brand new around 2 months ago, and it's been happening since I purchased the car from a Skoda dealer.

What happens is when you are playing music, and then click browse a 'file error' message appears. Then when you click cancel, and click browse again it just sits at 'reading'. Then eventually it comes up 'no mdi connected' but it continues to play the music. I have tried 2 iPods, and 1 iPhone 4S and it happens when them all. There is issues also with the music crackling intermittently when playing and it seems to change from the left speaker to the right at times, as if its some sort of connection issue. Hope this makes sense.

I have been back to the dealer and they replaced the headunit around 4 days ago but the issue persists. I'm going to give them a call again tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar issues or if anyone has got an idea of what it could be, as its not the headunit? Pictures are attached of the messages.

Thanks.

Sounds like some faulty wiring connection between the MDI and the headunit to me.

What he ^^^ said.

Seems like the next logical thing eh. Thanks for the input, I will let you know how I get on.

Mine has done the "reading" thing a few times from a USB key. Disconnect and reconnect usually sorts it for me.

However if it keeps doing it then I might do the same and visit the stealers.
