On the dash the temp gauge bings at 4 degrees no other temp bings just 4 degrees does anyone know how to turn it off

It's the ice warning - you can't turn it off.

Its pointlessly loud. makes me jump most times.

I think the chime speaker is on the circuit board behind the dials.

If you could be bothered you could dismantle it and find the speaker and either cut the supply to it (but you won't get any warning bongs, you might want the bong if the oil light comes on!) Or you could put tape over the speaker to quieten it.

It seems to make a slightly different bong than the other bongs, it;s also louder. Good idea taping over it..

Not that I can find.......although on my Elegance with factory parking sensors, you can adjust the volume of these with VCDS!

I turned them down as they were way too loud for me.

The ice warning sound is exactly the same tone as my citroen used to give when it displayed an error on the dashboard........there were many errors..........costing lots of money.
