19" Alloys for a Octavia VRS Estate

Featured Replies

Hi all have not been on for a while but thought I would ask advice before I purchase a new set of wheels, not really the best weather at present in Scotland to buy new wheels but can start looking.

I have a 2007 Octavia VRS Estate in silver which has 18" TTRS Style wheels on at present but fancy putting some 19" on and would like to hear what peoples thoughts are on this size.

I have been up to one of my local wheel suppliers in Turriff who showed me some nice choices and one caught my eye which is shown below, what's peoples thoughts.

Do you like them????

It's been discussed many times and there are lots of octavias with 19"s.

I'd ask your supplier what the wheel construction method is (cast, flow formed, forged etc) and the weight. Adding any weight will slow your car down.

Lower profile tyres might make it ride a bit harder, plus your tyres are going to be more expensive.

You might find you need to lower the car (if you haven't done so already) as the lower profile tyre can sometimes make the arch gap look bigger than it did on 18"s.

hth.

I do like the look of the wheel just trying to think if they will suit the car

What Rob said, Im running 19s and they are lighter than the OEM rims, but the lower profile tyres DO make the ride harder, I would love a set of Neuspeeds like Rob, but cant afford them :-(

Take a look at Neuspeed RSe14 (19x8et45 9.4kg), volk vr g2 (19x8 9.75kg), TD pro-forged (19x8.5 8.5kg), TSW nurburgring (19x8 9.2kg), OZ Crono HLT (19x8 9.5kg).

tbh that kind of design the 18's will look massive.

That design philosophy goes back to the OZ Titans where the spokes went right to the edge to create the illusion the wheels are bigger than they actually are.

I personaly would stick with 18's

Why must you tempt me with such things......I blame google for making it so easy to look at stuff.

I'm definitely in the lighter camp, its worth the extra money.

Neuspeed RSe14 are taking my fancy at the moment.

I'm blaming that sod Rob for this!!!
