What can I do with

Featured Replies

I havd a race blue vrs 57 plate and i have just had a tax rebate and want to spend £500 on some basic modifications (I am a mere novice) was hoping for led interior lights in blue and maybe the new badges...but I'm interested what everyone else would spend the cash on? Ideas? Prices instructions?

Maybe a remap? Not sure exactly the costings but I think it would give you most bang for your buck. Should be looking at 240bhp or so. If you're looking for less drastic options, you could consider changing the suspension to drop the ride height a little (lots have done that).

Window tinted if not already done so

+1 for remap, money wisely and well spent!

Old head on: I would save it and when you need a service or tyres I would use it then.

OR as said above a remap, I wouldn't lower it as this ruins the ride for everyday driving (old head again)

Give it to me? Towards my suspension fund :giggle:

Remap is probably the biggest bang for buck, but remember insurance etc.

Could get a nice milltek cat back for that :)

Mmm food for thought seems like the getmel opinion is remap! Sounds great can anyone recommend a particular remap and cost ... Plus effect in insurance coatings :)

General opinion stupid iPhone

Try Shark over in mansfield.

If I had £500 I'd

Tint windows

Lower it

Led bulbs ( white tho defo not blue )

Map is 399inc vat from shark for stage 1

Remap.

Sold my vrs a few weeks ago, when I brought it the map was already on. Took the map off before selling couldn't believe the difference as standard.

Banks it for when the ESP goes pop

I lowered my last vRS with koni fsd and eibach springs but primarily for improved handling. The ride was massively improved over standard, which I found quite jittery.

Rear anti roll bar and a proper 4 wheel alignment.

Its just nicer to drive....

Find a local club and have a lap dance and shove some £20's in her cleavage!!! Sounds good to me!!!

Cheers for all the suggestion guys... Even yours mike you happy soul! I especially like the lap dance club idea

I'd put it away so I can think about my next car.

Why does the promise of cash burn holes in someone's pocket? Just because you get a £500 bonus doesn't mean to say to have to spend it straight away??? I fail to see why anyone asks the question " I have some money, how should I spend it." If I had/have any cash spare, I know exactly what and where I'm looking to spend it.

You can map a car all you want, modify the suspension for better handling, but seriously, when are you going to be able to drive it to REALLY warrant improving what is already more than adequate for general everyday use???

Remap for speed? You can still legally only do 70mph in the UK.

Handling improvement? So you can throw it around faster and more aggressively?

The mods you're talking about in this thread will do nothing but cost more money -- initial cost, insurance, and more fuel because you'll end up driving far more aggressively, simply because you car is physically more capable.

Beats me.

Listen and take note - good sound advise.

+1

But i have just booked a track day, which are a bit addictive, so i would spend £100 on that and put the rest under the pillow...

VCDS which you can then use on any other VAG car too. The rest could then go on a pair of tyres. Or maybe just a set of 4.
