Anybody got one? I've got an old knocked about one and the battery needs replacing. Had a quote in town for

Well I have got one, but it's a newer solar powered/self setting one, so I'll never have to change the battery. It was about

the reason they are so expensive is that there is a special technique involved so the watch remains waterproof, to a depth you probably wouldnt want to go anyway. i had same problem, so its still got no battery. luckily santa brought me a new watch so i dont need a battery anymore. thanks santa

I've always had Casio watches for work as they're cheap and last for ages. They usually break at the strap before anywhere else, or the pins holding the strap in get ripped out.

I've got loads of them in my drawer collecting dust. I traded up to a G shock last time my watch strap broke, It was in a H Samuel sale for

I just got a battery from Halfords and did it myself. I just didn't get it wet afterwards!

Haven't worn it for years though, since I got into Omegas and Rollys lol.

Goldsmiths Meadowhall for the Seamaster Pro 300m Chronometer

China for the Explorer II

but cost was around

I used to use Casio watches for work, but gave up on them always lloking totally scratched out after 1 year, so I now use Citizen Eco-drive. No battery, or anything to replace and a much harder glass so doesnt scratch up anything like the Casio's did.

As for replacing the battery in a Casio, I never bothered...just replaced the watch.

i recently bought one from decathalon,37 quid instead of 70 odd

I'd just ring around a few jewellers, should be able to get a reasonable deal. I'd say about 20 quid sounds about right, they make a fair markup.
