Problem with bluetooth - Bolero

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Since a couple of months I have a Superb Combi. The previous car, a twindoor Superb (Elegance spec), was equipped with premium bluetooth and Bolero radio, and it worked perfectly with my old Nokia C5. My current car (Exclusive spec) have the standard factory-fitted bluetooth, and it also worked OK with the Nokia C5.

But now the Nokia has died after more than 4 years, and I have replaced it with a Samsung Galaxy Ace. The synchronization between the phone and the car unit was done with no problems. But when I downloaded the phonebook, the SIM numbers were not downloaded into the car, only the numbers stored at the phone. I copied the SIM numbers into the telephone and it seemed to work, but...

... everytime I come into the car, the phonebook is updated and the message "new phonebook available" is displayed on the Bolero screen, but creating new inputs swapping name and surname and even adding an index. That's to say, if I have a contact called "John Smith (cousin)", the next time I'll go into the car it will display:

John Smith (cousin)

John Smith (cousin) 2

And the next one:

John Smith (cousin)

John Smith (cousin) 2

Smith (cousin) John

And the next one:

John Smith (cousin)

John Smith (cousin) 2

Smith (cousin) John

(cousin) John Smith

And the next one:

John Smith (cousin)

John Smith (cousin) 2

John Smith (cousin) 3

Smith (cousin) John

(cousin) John Smith

So imagine every phonebook input stored in that way. When I have to search a name using the Bolero touchscreen, I don't know if it has been indexed using the name, the surname, the number or the planetary alignment of Jupiter and Saturn :@

I have tried to reset both the car bluetooth and the mobile phone, but the problem persists: every time I connect the phone and the car and duplicated phonebook is created.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
