Drinks holders...?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Fabia vRs '06 and noticed in a thread the other day you can get drinks holders for the front ashtray and the rear compartment also (this is a fold down tray). Stupidly I forgot to take note of who had changed these so I could send them a note.

So I ask, what are the part numbers for these or what car are they specifically out of to complete a swap.

We're none smokers so have no use for the ashtray and with a small child, the holders will be useful for his bottle in the rear of the car and the front is useful for us as the glovebox doesn't look the most secure for a drink if you are driving.

6Y0 857 962 47H - That's the rear flip out cup holder. It's ok if you're stationary, but to be honest, not much use when you're driving. Drinks can come out quite easily.

That's the ashtray replacement.

You can also get the flip out dash cup holder.

Ooo the flip out one from the dash looks a lot more studier. If mine doesn;t have these as standard, will it still be able to support the mechanism to folder the holder out and hold the cup?

Yes the blank removes, and that screws into its place.

The flip out one is only really ok for cans or cardboard coffee cups. Bottles tend to come out of it too as it's not very deep unfortunately.

Many thanks for your help softscoop

make sure if you get the dash one that you dont drive 'vigorously' with a thinner starbucks travel mug in it, as they tend to fly out lol

I had twin lupo cup holders. Looked good and well made. Try search there's a lot of threads on this now

Call TPS and order one, or VW themselves.

When I'd not long had my Fabby, I saw one in a car part with flip out cup holders. On returning to my car, I set about looking to see if I had them. I didn't of course, but I found a neat felt lined drawer under the head unit that I didn't even know was there. Perfect for fitting the navi in. I honestly thought it was just a blanking plate.

that cup holder, does it come with the small cubby hole above, so bascially if i went to VW and ordered it, it would come with the small CD / Phone space and 2 cup holders all in the single din space?

interested in that tbh :)

These images seem to suggest it is all part of one assembly

Well worth getting!!

How So?

without being sarcy, the ashtray and gear surround are one piece, remove the actual ashtray, and you'll see 3 t20 or t15 bolts, undo these and then carefull pull the whole unit out (pull the gear gaitor out of the surround first), then the cupholder just clips back in, no bolts :)

Oh OK that was what I expected to do. I thought by fettled with it you had moved the light from the ash tray somewhere or added some fancy trickery to it in some way.
