looking for a superb estate.... does this one belong to anyone on here?

Featured Replies

Don't know but it seems a very good price.

Same mobile number was used to sell a BMW 1 Series last month.

Why not phone the seller, and see what the story is. It isn't listed as a private seller, but nor does it give a trading name.

It is cheap, I'd say very cheap, and that always makes me wonder if there is some sort of story to tell.

Don't just ask if the vehicle has ever been a 'write-off'. Ask if it has ever had any accident damage. I feel the nearside rear bumper to panel shut line looks a bit 'open' - but hard to say without seeing the vehicle.

First line HPI comes up as the car.

Talking about HPI checksand a bit off topic, sorry. I did an HPI check on a car recently and the following line came up

"VRM currently recorded as at risk on the security register"

It also stated:-

"VRM currently recorded as having outstanding finance"

I am aware of the finance outstanding and this can be sorted but unsure as to what the security register is. Is it just referencing the outstanding finance or does it mean something else?

Wowza - cheap cheap cheap - if it's as good as the add makes out, then buy it - options on it too (heated rear seats, heated screen, park assist, auto-dimming mirror and MDI) + looks like factory tinted glass too - admittedly, not keen on the colour but could live with it! - that car's cost it's owners more than £1 per mile in depreciation alone!

Looks like a scam advert to me, something is just not right. The fact it mentions MOT for example, this car does not need or require an MOT until 2015.

To me it looks like someone has looked at the options list, found some pictures of a Superb estate and listed the car at a price that someone will bite with.

That seems far too cheap for the age / mileage /spec, granted the colour will not help, but there must be something not quite right about it, I agree the rear bumper is not lined up very well either.

Agreed I'm not sure I can see the advertised parking assist sensors either.

The colour is masking the sensors I think… the PA button is fitted inside the car though.

Can defo see the side-sensors on the front bumper....

If this car is the real deal, (and I'm not saying it isn't) a Skoda dealer would happily pay that price to buy it into stock. So why go to the hassle of selling on Autotrader?

Hope this helps

Thanks DCC, that does indeed help. So it seems it is just refering to the outstanding finance

It's done more miles than my October 61 plate, but I paid nearly 7k more, so the price is (too?) fantastic.

Luxons listed but Themistos in the photos, too.

If you read the full advert you'll see "Category D Insurance Write Off due to minor accident damage (rear bumper and back window crushed)" which explains both the bumper fit and the low price.

It's very hard to believe that rear bumper and back window crushed lead to Cat D in almost new car... it's got to be more than mentioned damages.

The final sentence, listing the car as a Cat D., has only recently been added to the description. All who responded prior to JulieD's post today were basing their assessment on an advert which did not declare the vehicle as having been on VCAR
