My new Focus RS mk2

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

Got back into a Focus RS (my 4th in 3 years) a few weeks ago. This one WILL be a keeper. I'm giving up trying to convince myself that I've scratched the RS itch and don't need one. Even the new Focus ST250 didn't do it for me, which I bought in December and traded in for this RS.

I've had all 3 colours, this is my 2nd Frozen White. Best colour in my opinion. And it matches my Blackline!

Currently my RS is with a Mountune dealer getting a few bits and bobs.

Mp350 upgrade

Mongoose Catback system

Black bonnet vents

Mountune side-stripes

Mudflaps fitted

AS cast plenum fitted to replace the standard Ford plastic one

2 new front tyres

Should have had the RS back now, but there had been a sensor damaged on the exhaust which is causing the mil light to come on. Just need to wait for a few days for a new one to arrive/be fitted, then she can finally come home.

We followed one like that on the motorway for a while at the weekend, I commented at the time that the white suits it really well. The blue hides the contours too much, the green is so in your face that you don't notice anything else, but the white sets it all off very nicely.

Cracking car and it sounds like you've already started down the slippery modding slope. :giggle:

Lovely :) all three colours are great but I'd def have a blue one :)

I saw a red one recently, the colour really suited it.

Out of the three usual colours though, I do prefer the white. Looks good! :)

Its only available in Ultimate Green, Performance Blue and Frozen White. Probably an ST that you spotted. :) I think the White works best, especially with the gloss black body parts for contrast. :)

Is it true Ford will be releasing a new version soon?

I know someone who is big into the Focus RS and has a Mountune one tailored for the track.

All that power through the front wheels makes it quite a laugh apparently.

Same colour scheme as our Blackline!

2014/15 apparently, with 2.3l EcoBoost engine, c350bhp.

2015 more likely. We have a member on the owners club that is a Director for a major nationwide Ford dealership. There are NO plans at all for a Focus RS in 2014.

It's all to do with the financial climate. Ford Europe lost money last year. Ford UK broke even apparently. With the new Focus ST250 just finding its feet, and the new Mustang due next year, Ford don't think there is room for two £35k+ cars in its portfolio in these times of austerity.

Have a proper soft spot for one of these, especially in the frozen white.

Dont think i could handle the fuel bills as i do 16k miles per year sadly

my nephew in law has a 10 reg green one,and oh boy is it fast, it has the leather seats and sat nav reversing cam ETC but i don't really fancy the green colour and i love the focus RS in blue, its the best colour in my opinion

Any mad car makes a better weekend toy IMO.

That's what I do with mine.

That way it's exciting every time you drive it after getting out of something more mundane.

Yeah, my wife's drives the RS during the week, as she only does 25 miles a day. I do twice that, so I drive the Occy. Then I get to enjoy the RS on a weekend.

I do believe there is a red one (altho not OEM) seen it on the RS forum before. Really suited I must say. Would like to see how the orange looks too

Just changed a pollen filter in my boss' one. What a pig of a job, two bits of trim, a fuse box, metal fuse box braket and a air ducting pipe. And you get the pleasure of doing it upside down.

Nice car and as said White is the best colour for one of those.Enjoy:)

I think they are taking the engine from the Mustang ? So the 2015 timeline might be more sensible.

I do love the noise of this 5pot especially on the over run! And the torque it's just nuts deffo for me one of the best hotter hatches along with the Audi rs3 I must like 5 pots hahaha nice motor pal! I love the seats in these too and Those exhaust!
