Temperature settings

Featured Replies

Driving back from Norwich this evening, I found the temperature setting at 22C to be blowing freezing cold air with an outside temperature of 18C. I had to turn the temp up to 25C before I got a blast of warm air.

It feels like the temperature settings on the aircon are several degrees out i.e. it thinks its warmer than it really is in the cabin. Is there a way of calibrating the aircon system temperature?

Answers on a postcard please to.......

Did you have the sun shining on the dashboard?

Nope it was shady

Might be worth getting the car scanned for fault codes, you may have a problem with your flaps.

No faults show up on VCDS, I'm wondering if there's a calibration setting in the depths of the HVAC module.

But thanks for the concern about my flaps ;)

Funny, my yeti is the same, the temperature is either too warm or too cold. I can't seem to ever get it just comfortable

Have you tried lubrication on the flaps?

:giggle: Robert !

I've found the same as the OP but it only seems to occur on shortish journeys.

On longer trips the temperature seems to be about right at the 21*

I have an idea that the A/C is configured to try and get the temperature to the set value as soon as it can.

If the car has been stationary in the sun for a while, the cabin will possibly be at a significantly higher temperature so the A/C does its thing with the cold air.

It could also be the flaps expanding due to heat.

And you're having a go at Bob? :giggle:

Not rowntrees then?

Very subtle btw.

But they say it can cause the rubber to fail? That would lead to lack of grip on slippery surfaces surely?

I think that was CFB's point. I've heard of a young lady called Dinah who recommends axle grease.

Dinah might use axle grease on her china, but I find it taints the tea within.
