Any cheap solutions?

Featured Replies

Well, as you can see in the picture, I am having trouble with my wheels... This was taken after doing about 5 miles with 3 people in the back, and two up front.

I don't really want to raise the car up, or have the arches rolled. So is there a better way to avoid scrubbing, such as the extra load spring helpers, like the ones you can get for vans, the piece of plastic or metal, which sits in between the coils. Or can I get stiffer springs?

Coilovers are KW V1s, wound all the way down on the back, with the adjusters, and adjuster cups still in.

As you can see, this has burnt the arch, and is reaching half way down the tyre wall. Any comments welcome.

Carry less people in the back??

....Sorry, someone was going to say it if I didn't! :giggle: :giggle:

Fit wheels that aren't so wide. :)

More stretch on the tyres?

(I wouldn't never ever have them personally but apparently they're cool)

Well I dont plan on giving many people a lift anymore, but somehow when it comes to the old "dont suppose I can have a lift" I cant say no lol.

And nah, I dont want any more stretch, its a fair bit already for how I drive about, so thats not an option for me im afraid.... but they are "cool" ;)

Bash the arches out a touch?

Raise the coilovers.. thats the cheapest option you have? that rubber should buff off, possibly with a cheese wheel.

Roll the arches.. £25 a corner is hardly breaking the bank.

Or if there 205/40 tyres get 195/40 tyres ;)
